The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection Magazine is not something new internationally but for those in the United States, it may be the first time you've seen these or anything like it. 3.5" scale lead figurines look stunning with supreme sculpt and paint jobs. These figurines feature staggering attention to detail and comic book accuracy. The figurines are heavy, yet very well balanced. Diamond shipped these four Magazine + Lead Figurine sets early January of 2007 and are expected to keep shipping throughout the year. I decided to give these a try and am I glad I did! The figurines, especially for their size are quite infectious. I thought the magazines would be throw-aways, instead I sat for a good while reading and flipping through them. The magazines are over-sized (UK sized), high quality, full color, 19 page booklets with an in depth look at the character including, Life and Times, Classic Moments, Amazing Secrets, Who's Who, Behind The Scenes, all of which are standard chapters in each and every magazine. It's not all text either, every single page is loaded with beautiful artworks from all different artists and eras.

#1 Spider-Man - All those web lines throughout the costume are sculpted and painted perfectly. This figurine is flawless. In the photos, I still can't believe he's only 3.5". Spideys Magazine also comes with an "Introducting The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection" insert that the other three from this set do not. This insert is another over-sized, high quality, full color booklet with a behind the scenes look at how the figurines are made and a gatefold poster in the middle providing a family tree of the five branches of the Marvel Universe.

#2 Wolverine - Not necessarily the classic version of Wolverine in his Astonishing X-Men / New Avengers costume, but still an exceptional figurine. The paint is just a little sloppy on the mask and face and the claws aren't perfectly straight. These are minor gripes on an otherwise astonishing figurine.

#30 Black Panther - In his classic outfit, Black Panther looks great with a nice dynamic pose, flowing cape and I personally dig the red eyes.

#31 Angel - How oh how, do they capture a facial expression so well in such a tiny figurine? The world may never know. Sculpt a paint job here are superbly done. Angel really stands out to me, the wings look great too.

Overall a very solid presentation from figurine to magazine provides an outstanding experience and although unsure at first, at $12 each I feel quite satisfied with my purchase and have every intention to keep picking these up from my local comic book shop.

I rate The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection a 5 out of 5 stars.
