GI Joe 25th Ann. Wave 7 Wild Bill

Package Description
WILD BILL served as combat infantryman and participated in LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol) operations during Southeast Asian missions. Reenlisted for Flight Warrant Officer School and has since remained in service. Specialized Training: CLASSIFIED. Qualified Expert: M1911A auto pistol (prefers single action .45 Colt revolvers), XM-16 attack rifle.

Appearance
Wild Bill shares a body with Captain Ace, with a new paint job and some added accessories. The body could use some more paint details because of the colors. The green and brown is not visually appealing because of the hard plastic look. There are some sculpt details such as the straps and buckles, but he could use some highlighting to add some color and bring out those details in the dark plain colors on the body. That said, the gun holsters and hat add some nice visual flair on display with other characters.

The overall proportions and size of the figure are good. None of the articulation is overly obvious. My main gripe with the figure is the color scheme, but I don’t think there’s a whole lot Hasbro could have done. Overall, he’s a good looking figure. It’s the hat, vest, and gun holsters that really make the figure look good though. You can even tilt the hat to give him a little more attitude!

Articulation

Wild Bill has articulation expected from 25th Anniversary figures. He has double jointed knees, ball jointed ankles and elbows, a ball jointed torso and two gun holsters. The elbows don’t bend 90 degrees, and the head can’t look up very far.

Poseability
Wild Bill can do some nice poses with his two guns, and holds onto them easily. His balance is good too, and has virtually no problems when put onto his base. He goes nicely into an established collection too. In short, he can do what you’d expect from a 25th Anniversary figure.

Final Judgment: 6

Wild Bill came out about as good as I expected. He could have used some more paint, but there’s not a whole lot more I expected from this figure. He doesn’t stand out from the crowd though, so I’m not going to give him a score of “excellent”, but for a 25th Ann. Collector Wild Bill is worth picking up.
