The Dark Knight Movie Masters Series 2 Batman

Package Description
Experience the denizens of Gotham City in all their heroic or hideous glory with Movie Masters figures. These highly detailed figures give you an up-close-and-personal look at the unsettling presentation of Scarecrow and the subtleties of Batman’s suit.

Appearance
Batman has a new, highly detailed sculpt that has several differences from the series 1 Batman. This figure is built less to look like an armored suit, and more streamlined like in the comics. The black is a darker and deeper color, and also shinier than the Dark Knight Batman. There are not as many ridges and separate pieces of armor on this Batman, and it even reminds me of the Michael Keaton Batman. In some ways I prefer this figure because it is less bulky and looks as if it allows greater movement. As far as I can tell the figure is movie accurate. The proportions are realistic, and he’s not overly muscled like a lot of superhero figures. Most of the joints are hidden well but the torso joint is a little ugly. The paint application for the most part is very good, but I did have to look for a figure with no mistakes on the face.

Stylistically, he does not go well with DCUC figures which have a more classic comic book feel. He is also shorter than the generic DCUC body and even the Dark Knight Batman. He is just about the right size to go with Marvel Legends figures though, so he may fit in pretty well with a Marvel movie figure 6” collection. The style and size of the Movie Masters figures though tend to set them apart from established DC collections.

Articulation
Batman has articulation that is standard for DCUC figures. Batman has pin jointed elbows, knees and ankles. He has the DCUC style hip and swivel wrists. There is an ab crunch which moves more than the series 1 Batman, but it still doesn’t move a lot. The head doesn’t really look up. The range of motion is what you would expect from a DCUC figure except for the limited range of motion in the head and abs. This figure does have increases motion in the arms because of the lack of shoulder pads.

Poseability

For some reason my Batman came with loose joints, which makes it difficult sometimes to get him in the pose I want him. He can do what the Dark Knight Batman could do and a little more though. The cape helps him stand up in certain poses, but also keeps him from doing some poses. He cannot do agile poses. It’s unfortunate there’s a noticeable size difference with DCUC figures. In an action pose the size difference can be made to look negligible, so if you want Batman to fight Two Face or something it can probably be done. Overall he’ll probably look best by himself or with Movie Masters figures.

Final Judgment: 7
The look and feel of this figure is superb, and on par with just about any Marvel or DC figure. It is unfortunate that he couldn’t be a little more agile, but the superior sculpt is worth it. The only real drawback to this figure is the size difference with DCUC figures. For whatever reason Mattel made these figures slightly shorter, but the style wouldn’t go well with those figures anyway. Overall this is an excellent figure for anyone interested in DC or Batman. Choosing between this figure and the series 1 Batman is really up to personal taste.

Hey Pooda seeing as you seem to be the expert here do you think that the smaller Begins Bat would fit into the Tumbler that came out for the last movie?

i dont know? i was sitting here wondering that myself....could be possible seeing that the cape is softer than the DK bats

heres the deal! BB BATS is only smaller slightly. if u have both figs, look at them close. if u could take the armor off( i mean the whole armor, not just the pads) u can see that they would be the same size. my cam sucks so i didnt do an in depth pic

Holy crap you weren't kidding. That sucks I really wanted a Scarecrow in a suit. Well I think it's safe to say Clark has been eating his fruits and veggies

Get a Movie Masters Joker Thug and some paint and do a headswap (and handswap) with him. Based on the pics above, it looks like it might work.

right. that will work! get a goon and do a head swap. th mail hasnt come yet.....but ill get some pics up of the size difference

Thanks for the reviews. The Batman looks way too short for my liking so now I may have to pass on it. He looks tiny next to the movie Iron Man. Scarecrow is a must get for me tho.

The Kent body is quite tall, and the Movie Master figs are a bit shorter than DCUC, so my guess is that you'd get a pretty tall Scarecrow after the headswap.

the bb bats looks small, but it isnt(i heard) mine will be here today. as for kent,...yes the size is a big difference

post pics when u get bats. I`m still deciding wether to get it or not, cause it looks tiny in the comparison shots next to IM (and I consider IM tiny!!)
