Im very excited about this new "classic" superman figure. It seems that this time Mattel will finally release a Superman with the correct colors and a better design overall. The first Superman they released in the DC Superheroes line wave 2 was good, but there were some features that really bothered me. The colors of the uniform were wrong - the blue was too dark, and the red was dark red, so the figure was not as lively as it could and should be. Also, some other details were really bad for the figure, such as the way the head was "cut" so it seemed kind of too thin for Superman and in some positions, it looked like a strange head that did not fit well with the figure. Also the hands were kind of big. But the worst details apart from the wrong colors, were the really big and heavy cape and the too wide open legs. The cape was too thick, badly made and it didn't look like it was really part of the uniform. Bizarro's cape was much better and integrated to the figure than Superman's. That really annoyed me. And the legs... what were they thinking? Was there supposed to be a Supermotorcycle or Superhorse for him to sit on? I mean, come on, they were stretched and I had to use sandpaper on my figure to make the legs close a little. Who the heck is responsible for quality check in Mattel? Who lets figures with these issues be released? I wouldn't do it.

And later, instead of correcting this first figure they re-released that older Superman version from the Batman's line, which was even worse. What a joke! Anyways, I'm thankful that Mattel is releasing this DC line. I think the figures are all good, it's just that they really should produce a perfect Superman figure, since they are so close to it... This new figure looks like it may be IT. The colors are right (light blue, lively red, brigh yellow), the "S" shield is right, the cape looks much better, the legs and hands seem in scale and the only thing is the hair, but I won't mind buying two figures to replace this head in one of them for a better head.

By the way... Do any of you know how to contact Mattel in order to talk to them about issues like this??

I have to agree that Mattel is giving us more bang for our buck with great articulation, awesome sculpting, and their BAF's are getting better and better. Plus their BAF's are getting bigger while Hasbro's seem to be getting smaller (excluding Fin Fang Foom). I am just happy to see we will finally be getting a Flash figure.

eh...i like articulation but id take DCD any day....for one they USE MORE THAN ONE BODY! lol plus im 30...i dont play just display...i dont need to my superman to be able to pose like spiderman...but to be fair, mattel hasnt really got a lot of product out there to reasonably compare to DCD. i usually keep one cool version of a charatcer in my line up so its odd which ones i put up. in my JLA i have the Kubert superman but yet the mattel batman.(the one with big pouches that came in both grey and black and grey and blue modern) i was just hoping to get some other characters from Mattel that i havent seen yet. (jason todd, Monarch, etc.) but its really up in the air for which one to choose, take Robin from the batman and son line in the new costume...id rather have the Mattel version. but you cant compare Mattels verision of Sinstero to the DCD version. DCD blows it out of the water...the body is all wrong...it boils down to the fact that DCD just has better sculpts most of the time, after all they are upper end figures...but to each his own.

but i havent taken Lobo out of the package...i gotta get another one from online...

i did get the DCD 10th anny Joker figure...no good articulation but man its awesome.

im 29, and i dont play either. but it would be nice to have a fig that actually moved, than just stand in the up right position. (might a well be a statue) as far as bodies go...IMO, most of the characters from the book look the same. bats, supes, GL, hawkman, manhunter, ect. i feel what your saying, but for 15.00.....i gotta have articulation.

oh ya...everyone did read that fact that they are gonna rerelease wave 2 right? thats way they were so hard to find...Mattel changed vendors...gonna hold on and not open the Harley Quinn, the face was too blue, so hopefully they fixed it.

Lobo's packaging is resealable. It opens and closes with a hinge. BTW, the packaging has a 3-d component which is amazing! He's standing on a base that says Spacedock: 0807, which (if you turn it upside down) is LOBO! Very cool packaging!

ya they showed some cool stuff but again my gripe is that weve got a lot of these characters from DC direct already. Kalibak and Barda are coming out in JAN i think from DC direct as well. though i am excited about Killer Moth...lol, really. i collect all DC figs in the 6inch scale...Adam Strange looks cool though he reminds me of a MOTU character...but on a different note...a buddy got me the Lobo but he was signed by all 4 horsemen with somekind of special sticker...so dang it i wont open him...ugh...guess ill have to buy one online.

DCD shows the characters no articulated justice.
