Package Description
After being destroyed in a radiation accident, Hank Henshaw became a being of pure energy, Henshaw beamed his consciousness into the Kryptonian birthing matrix that brought Superman to Earth. The experience granted him an irrational hatred of Superman. Utilizing the matrix again to construct a cyborg body out of Superman's DNA and Kryptonian alloys, he teamed with the interstellar tyrant Mongul bent on wreaking havoc throughout the universe.

Appearance 19/20
Cyborg Superman is a straight repaint of the DC Superheroes Cyborg Superman with the exception of a new hand sculpt with Sinestro Corps rings, and the lower left leg was switched out for a regular Superman leg. He suffers from the same problems too. The stance of the legs is wide. Since newer figures like John Stewart have a narrower stance, Cyborg Superman actually stands a little short because of the stance. On the shelf, Cyborg Superman just doesn’t have quite the impact he could if he was able to stand tall next to the new DCUC Superman.

Cyborg Superman is comic accurate except that he has rings on only his right hand, when he should have rings on both. This slip isn’t noticeable on display, especially without yellow constructs. Despite these issues, Cyborg Superman is one of the best looking figures in the line. The shine of the silver provides a nice contrast to the dark red of the costume and also draws attention to the sculpted details of the cyborg parts. A lot of detail work went into the shapes and panel lines of the cyborg parts, in addition to the individually sculpted teeth. This figure benefits from the excellent sculpt detail of the line combined with a costume design that highlights these details. Overall this figure has a few small problems, but the overall appearance more than makes up for it.

Articulation 8/10
Articulation is standard for the DCUC line. Range of motion in the torso is very good, but limited backwards by the cape. The head can hardly look up or down though. The range of motion in other parts of the figure is standard for the line.

Poseability 7/10
Balance can be a problem because of the cape. Flying poses are also hard because of the lack of motion in the head. He looks great in fighting poses he can do, but the balance issue is what limits him the most. He looks great on display with Superman, Green Lanterns, or Sinestro. Overall you should be able to find a pose you like, but don’t expect to be able to recreate his greatest fights.

Final Judgment 34/40
Cyborg is an excellent figure for hardcore DCUC fans or the casual collector. The character design fits this style of figure well and captures the essence of the character. The figure doesn’t suffer from the generic look of a lot of figures in the line. Cyborg Superman will stand out in a good way on the display shelf, and is a good buy as long as you’re not looking for a lot of dynamic poses.
