The official website for the G.I. Joe Convention has updated their website with a clue for their 3 3/4" figure collector set that will be offered at this years convention.

Our 2010 set features the return of the classic O-Ring style action figures. Our first exciting reveal is the mysterious COBRA INTERROGATOR. This unique and exclusive figure will have a brand new head sculpt that includes a removable helmet for the first time ever! Check out the figures filecard art below.

This years convention will be taking place at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI April 29 - May 2, 2010. For those who don't know, Providence, RI is also the location of Hasbro's headquarters, the toy company responsible for making G.I.Joe toys.

They posted the first figure preview and it is black major. (link) They have also now shown the RED SHADOWS PYRO-TROPPERS: RED TORCHES at (link) . Flint is now showing (link) .

how is interrogator affiliated with the red shadows?? someone fill me in

None that we know of.Figure is a mostly a blank slate except for his Devils Due Plague connections.Figure has a removable helmet so who will be under the helmet??A Joe sent undercover to rescue Flint??Dr Venom's old/new identity??Maybe it'll be the man who becomes Baron Ironblood.Heck with the chance that more Action Force figures will be sold at the Con it could very well be Action Man under the helmet.

While I'm excited to see the Red Shadows and Black Major, I feel slightly cheated by getting two army builders - one of which I don't recall ever hearing of before (Red Torches?). I'd rather have seen more individual characters. However, I understand that the cost of the set would probably be higher if they did that like the Tanks for the Memories set. Oh well.

I bet we'll see more characters in the con attendees only items.

did you guys read the brochure they put out? it sounds like it is red shadows. Here is what it says

"Red Shadows International Set

There has never been an American release of the international

figures in this set. We have some very special surprises for you!

Every collector will want these vintage style figures from the

set: Black Major, Interrogator, Flint, and the troopers: six Red

Torches and six Red Shadows Troopers.

Each of these exotic figures comes with their classic weapons and

accessories in this exciting 2010 fifteen figure boxed set Vacation

in the Shadows!

Make sure you are there for package pick-up on Thursday night

so that you wont miss this years souvenirs! These souvenirs

will feature several highly sought after vintage style G.I. Joes

along with one figure that will make its debut in 3 3/4 scale.

These limited edition figures will have a major roll in the convention

exclusive comic book. Flint has been captured by the Red

Shadows and their evil leader, the Black Major. Can Flints

international team save him, and what of the Interrogator? What

is his role in this insidious plot?"

I don't keep up with all the GIJOE stuff. But if it's anything like what Hasbro does for Transformers figures at Bot-Con, I'll continue to not be interested. $300 for a set of figures is too crazy. I assume this will be a similar situation for a set GIJOE convention exclusives.

I agree. I recently sold off my 2003 set after realizing that I have bought them simply out of the hype some ppl here were making back then. If I am not mistaken, the con sets were 200.

I was happy to sell them off, yet alone sell them for more than what I have paid for because these gi joe con figs are very hard to sell.
