2010 SDCC G.I.Joe Sgt. Slaughter Figure Exclusive Revealed

by Jay Cochran
March 04, 2010
As we reported to you during last month's New York Toy Fair, Hasbro will be releasing a new 3 3/4" Sgt Slaughter figure this year as their 2010 San Diego Comic Con exclusive. They will be releasing two versions of Slaughter, much like was done a few years ago with the "Pimp Daddy" Destro figure that had a gold head and a silver head. The main figure will be in his traditional USA shirt and use 100% new tooling while the variant will be based on the original version that came with the Triple T tank back in the 80's. The variant has quit a bit of new tooling but not 100%.

John Warden who worked on most of the 25th Anniversary line is the person sculpting these and the regular version will come with his hat, whistle, a WWE type wrestling belt with the G.I.Joe logo on it, baton and microphone. The variant will have the hat, whistle, baton, machine gun and revolver. Both versions I am told will also likely have a figure stand.

These should also end up being sold on the HasbroToyShop.com website after the con like Hasbro's exclusive have been offered in previous years.

The jakk 3 3/4 toy is goin for crazy money on ebay

Guess not a lot of folks like the more realistic hasbro ver and are biddin on the buff one

i wanted a toon looking one not a real looking on if i wanted a real one i would of bought the WWE one. ill pass.

The WWE version is actually unrealistic since he is quite buff. (link) The cool thing about this fig is that it one of the few that is actually based on the real person's body

I love Him! Slaughter's always been a cheese ball to me so getting fat sarge is kind of appealing imo. Hopefully I can get him without paying a small fortune.

Crap, now that's a Sarge. Feel all bad for jumping the gun and "just knowing" Hasbro was going to be lazy and sell that old frankensteined custom! Looks good!

Umm.... IMO that figure sucks. Do not want.

It's always a happy day for me when I don't want the exclusives

But i don't want a "real" slaughter, i want unnecessarily buff and unstoppable "Constitution like a vending machine" slaughter. I actually hate the toon character, but he is rather iconic, and I have to admit i want him in a more true to toon form.

Yup. Realistic or no, to me Sarge in the G.I Joe world is more akin to a super hero than the reality of fat guy in tights. If I can't get him ripped than I'm just not interested.

I hope he has a 25th/Modern era cardback........I'm liking him although he does look kinda weak.....Sarge should have some more definition. I'm looking forward to him though......I'm really not set on either version either. As long as I get one I'll be happy.

He still looks awesome.

Damnit... The variant is the better figure...
