It's interesting stumbling across this thread, as I recently decided to clean house with MOTUC. Going through what I have, I am getting rid of the non-essentials that, not being a HUGE fan needing every character ever made, easily comes down to animated one-shots and my POP collection. I've kinda been weeding them out as I go, but I've finally decided to pare it down to what I like, not what I've got. Considering that I've already gotten rid of no-essentials (all the 30th anniversary figs) and extras I don't care for (Thunderpunch etc.) I was faced with whether or not to keep these:

Frosta

Netossa

Castaspella (worst name ever)

Catra

Bow

Fangman

Nepthu

Batros

Icer

Keldor

Shokoti

I think what I have come to realize is that I am done with the Sub. I did re-up for 2014, but after, I think I'm pretty much done. I don't want any more POP or obscure Filmation characters. I like my essentials (Two-Bad, Modulok) but I can pretty much skip the rest. Needless to say, all of the above-listed are on Ebay as of this morning. I will say that, if you are a MOTUC completest (and have the wallet for it), this is definitely an awesome time to be a collector; sadly though, its just not me, and November and December's upcoming figs combined with Flutterina's reveal kinda put me over the top.

calm down man, didnt mean to be offensive. I would have been extra careful if this was a Disney or Nickelodeoan forum, but knowing were all adults here, I thought using the terms "hot" and "bedroom", wont bother anyone. Still, my apologies if it was distasteful, I was just kidding, peace.

well with the online comments its hard to convey sarcasm so sometimes comments can be taken literally, I get in trouble all the time on facebook w/my smart as$ comments taken the wrong way by stuffier shirts......that said.....there were plenty of fanguys in love w/the new Baroness Statue from Sideshow....for me it was the glasses & of course the accent always the accent.....

^^^^

I completely agree. Anyone who finds a toy figure sexually attractive needs a reality check.

you ever seen grandma's boy?? haha......

I don't think anyone here took offence, per se. Now, finding your comments a little weird and/or creepy? Well, your mileage may vary.

There are many who think the Unamed One will be some sort of Snake Mountain man... I can totally see it because after all, Castle Grayskullman already exists and it would be strange to have just him without the other.

Regarding Conan, I would love if the 4H created a dedicated line of Conan figures from the 1982 and1984 films.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything redeeming about Nepthu. I was especially disappointed with the pre-yellowed crystal Zoar that came with him.

I feel compelled to echo my change of heart regarding the FFM. I was completely wrong about them once I got them in hand. My favourite FFM ended up being the one with the dumbest name - Dawg-o-tor or "Thorgrim" as he is now known. I'm a sucker for anything that I can possible pass off as Conan the Barbarian inspired. I gave the female FFM the weapon pack's Laserlot sword and assigned her to Octavia as another space pirate crew member, and the blue guy was neat and repurposed into a Gar Survivalist. I did have to put the Horde chest pieces on, though - as much as ol' blue's made me laugh hysterically since it reminded me of It's Always Sunny's Dennis' ex-wife and her penchant for cat-faced shirts.

I'm really hoping that the Unnamed One ends up being either Thulsa Doom inspired or even Set.

The amazing thing about the POP figures to me, is the conversion from 2D to 3D. The POP figures are perfectly translated from Filmation art to sculpt. Even the Star Sisters are similar to the cartoon versions.

I think a lot of fans feel ashamed to even hold a "girly" toy in their hands, but whatever. I think all the females are awesome.

Nepthu truly is lame, but 100% better once his eyes are painted correctly IMO.

No, I call them Barbies because that's what they remind me of - Butterfly Barbie, Mermaid Barbie, Ice Princess Barbie, Peacock Feather Sunday Holiday Stroll Barbie.

They're bright, colourful, pastel-heavy, articulated dolls. I am well aware that they don't have rooted hair, but they're still based off of a line that did. Hell, they still come with "comb" weapons.

And you make a good point about the line not being intended for anyone short of having a *I want everything in the history of ever* mentality.

But even though I'm not a particular fan of NA (never seen the cartoon; have no nostalgic tie to the series/toys), I can still understand how/why they're included. And I even enjoyed NA He-Man and look forward to NA Skeletor. I get (and enjoy) 200X renditions and original characters. Did I have any idea who Lord Dactys was? Hell no. But he's still an awesome figure to add to my collection.

I am by no means a MOTU purist. I would actually consider myself pretty eclectic in my MOTUC tastes. I will even go so far as to say that despite my initial balking of the FFM, in hand, they were pretty neat (once given better names). Vykron, too. Yet, the POP releases outside of the core Filmation cast, have never had me give a second thought to just chucking the white mailer boxes directly into storage. Well, that's not entirely true. I did consider opening Castaspella to scavenge her magic effect accessory for my other figures.

Personally I didn't consider myself an "all in" kinda guy but there actually have ended up being very few figures that I haven't found redeeming qualities to once I had them in-hand (and most of those were because of defects in execution rather than character selection). Even figures I thought for sure I'd hate (Mighty Spector and Nepthu most notably) I've ended up reconsidering once I could see them up close.

Personally I'd LOVE a 200X Mini-Sub. 200X is criminally underrated, as IMO it was one of the best-portrayed "modernization reboots" that have ever been produced. But Mattel bungled the toy distribution/pack-outs and Cartoon Network screwed the scheduling on the animated series so...yeah. But 200X, while having been thrown some bones, has never been considered one of the areas the line focuses on, sadly.

But I dunno. Maybe I'm weird, but nearly every time I see one of those PoP figures unveiled and think, "Great...another garishly colored PoP figure" I end up getting them in hand, looking them over, and going, "Huh...I actually like this figure." Castaspella was the biggest recipient of that, but that may be solely due to one of the best combinations of headsculpt and paint that I've ever seen on a mass-produced female figure.

The only PoP figures that I haven't warmed up to are 2/3s of the Star Sisters (The blonde one I like...the other two do nothing for me).
