Liman Exits 'Justice League Dark' Over Scheduling Conflict

Back in August, we reported that Warner Bros. had hired director Doug Liman to helm the DC title Justice League Dark. Producer Scott Rudin was also hired after Guillermo del Toro dropped off to pursue his many other projects.

Deadline via Variety is now reporting Doug Liman has backed out of directing Warner Bros’ Justice League Dark, the film that was to be a cog in the studio’s DC Universe of movies. The reasoning as usual is scheduling conflicts and Liman's schedule is jammed packed.

Sources say several directors including Andy Muschietti are now being considered for the project.

The Justice League Dark, or JLD, is a fictional superhero team that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. First appearing in Justice League Dark #1 (November 2011), the Justice League Dark originally featured John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man and Zatanna. The team consists of the more supernatural members of the DC Universe, handling situations deemed unfit for the traditional Justice League.
