Mattel Q&A

TNI: Can you tell us when the line-up for the first wave of MOTU Classics will be made?

Mattel: This news will be released at San Diego Comic Con.

TNI: The character Deadshot appears in the upcoming "Gotham Knights" animated DVD that fills in the gap between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight". Any chance Mattel will be making a figure of him?

Mattel: We have looked at this very design and are really pleased at how well it will look as a toy. It may take a little while, but this is a design we want to explore for at least one of our DC toy lines.

TNI: Will we be seeing chacters outside of the "Dark Knight" ones appear in the Movie Masters line? Like maybe Superman related characters?

Mattel: We have some big plans for the Movie Masters line, but you’ll have to wait until San Diego Comic Con before we can announce anything.

TNI: Any word on "Batman: Brave & The Bold" figures yet?

Mattel: Boy, not to sound repetitious this week, but this will have to wait for San Diego Comic Con as well! We are very excited about the new Batman animated series announced for Cartoon Network. Just how this will translate into toys is yet to be announced.

TNI: You all have talked about possibly selling Mattel products online through your own store, are there any updates on the progress of that happening?

Mattel: Nothing we can update at this time, but I can confirm this is something are actively working on. Hopefully we’ll have something to announce in the near future.

I'll save my question until San Diego Comic Con, thanks.

i Know it's a little early to worry about this, but any chance that the NYCC will get better exclusives next year? The San Diego Comic Con is getting some great exclusives from DC Classics, JLU and MOTU. All NYCC got was a few re-paints and re-releases of figures that had already been widely available.

Also, if Shayera can't be re-released because she was a convention exclusive, what about the white outtfit she wore for a couple of episodes before switching to the yellow one?

My question is simple;

What are the chances of us getting less "kid-friendly" DCUC characters (like Lobo) on an online only capacity?? The majority of the buyers of this line are adult collectors anyways, why punish us? We OCD-folk need a complete set.

I know not overly informative this round, but if you have a question for Mattel post it here and we'll see about sending it in for the next round.

can we get a new sculpt on the dress suited figs? the old sculpt(clark kent) has been used too much!
