Staying true to the motto "Live Long and Prosper," CBS Consumer Products, a unit of CBS Entertainment, announced today the availability of an all-new product lineup to support one of the summer's most anticipated blockbuster films, Star Trek. The impressive collection of new Star Trek products will include action figures, Barbie® dolls, games, books, clothing, home décor, fragrance and more. J.J. Abrams' Star Trek adaptation from Paramount Pictures will premiere on May 8.

"The upcoming Star Trek film is going to be a massive global entertainment event and with that in mind we have created a lineup of new products that will entertain not only existing fans of Star Trek, but a whole new generation," said Liz Kalodner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Consumer Products. "It's important to honor the iconic property for its contribution to pop culture."

Some of the most eagerly anticipated items from the arsenal of new Star Trek products based on the upcoming feature film are toys and games made by the world's top toy companies including Playmates Toys and Mattel.

Leading the charge, Playmates Toys will debut a new line of highly detailed action figures, authentic playsets and cutting-edge role-play items all designed with input from the film's creators. Recommended for ages four and older, the first phase of the new Star Trek toys will include: fully-articulated action figures (3.75" and 6") and accessories; a special 12" scale of collector figures; and iconic vehicles, such as the U.S.S. Enterprise with realistic features and details. Additionally, the line will include basic role-play toys such as the Starfleet communicator and phaser boasting exciting electronic features; intricate playsets that are compatible with the 3.75" action figures; and more.

Mattel will introduce Star Trek-themed Barbie® Collector dolls (Kirk, Spock and Uhura) at Walmart, walmart.com, BarbieCollector.com and Barbie collector dealers for $43.19 each. Recommended for ages six and older, this is actually the second time that there has been a partnership between these two classic brands when in 1996, Barbie and Ken were decked out in Enterprise uniforms. Additionally, Mattel will offer classic product, including a full range of Tyco® R/C flying radio controlled vehicles; a Scene It?® DVD game that includes content from Star Trek television series and movies; and a Radica 20Q Star Trek trivia game that is currently hitting shelves.

CBS Consumer Products will also unveil the official novelization of the new movie from publisher Pocket Books on May 12th as well as a comic book prequel to the film entitled Star Trek: Countdown. IDW Publishing's comic book prequel is already available digitally on Apple's iPhone and iPod touch, and Google's Android Mobile Devices through iVerse Media's digital distribution technology.

In addition to merchandise based on the new movie, CBS Consumer Products is also launching numerous products that encompass all 6 TV series and 10 movies in the entire Star Trek franchise.

On the games front, Fundex has developed Star Trek versions of classic games UNO®, Scrabble® and All About Trivia™. Additionally, Star Trek fans will get a chance to travel through the Star Trek Continuum and explore generations of exciting Starfleet history when players buy, sell and trade memorable Star Trek locations with USAopoly's Star Trek Continuum Collector's Edition.

Online interaction is already an option with GoAnimate.com, the online platform that enables users to create their own customizable animations and gives users the ability to create their own Star Trek animated adventures. Users can activate animated versions of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty and many other original Star Trek characters with a full range of actions and expressions, in addition to dialogue and musical themes.
