Well, it assumed her FORM as well as a few male crew members once it sucked all the salt out of them Once we get the figure we can all check for ourselves and this mystery can be solved

Aaaactualy... DST only recently bought AA. Like last year. So the TNG and TOS waves were being done by AA.

Once again i feel your wrong, DST produced the figures Art Asylum designed them - DST came into do Star Trek in 2005/2006 - their first wave was the DS9 Trials and Tribulations.

All of TOS Waves 1 - 3 were done by Art Asylum agreed but DST have been producing Star Trek since 2006 their trek lines have included all of the TNG waves, all of the DS9 waves and all of the TOS figures since 206. They bought out Art Asylum whole in May 2007 - they had been producing Star Trek items long before they bought out Art Asylum.

A few things worth mentioning here -

1. 1701 - I may have misinterpretted what you were saying, but AA is still the producer of these figs. Nothing has changed other than Diamond buying them and becoming their distributor. AA still makes the product. (And I haven't seen any less quality since the merger, really)

Hm I'm not sure that is entirely accurate. Art Asylum is basically Diamond Select Toys, the people who ran AA (Digger, Adam Unger, Many Jesus, Donna Solano(?)) have all since departed as well as Tina Wang who painted many of the figures and whilst many of the design people remained with DST like Patrick Piggot when DST bought out Art Asylum, i assure you that it is a completely different company now.

And i have seen a huge drop in quality. Not in sculpt as these Rudy Garcia borg figures show, but in the paint applications, not sure who painted the Borg figures because they look ok, as does the prototypes for wave 5 of TOS however looking at the TNG and DS9 figures produced, you can see the softness of the paint application and the cartoony quality to each figure - with Digger's Art Asylum, well just compare the Enterprise figures and their Borg assimilation figures to DST's TNG and DS9 range. As well as paint you have DST's obsession with re-using bodies and body parts, with Art Asylum you didn't get much of that at all.

The only thing DST have done well at IMO is the forthcoming Enterprise - D and the role-play, especially their TOS Communicator and Tricorder.

I assure you that Art Asylum is only producer of these figures in name only - Diamond Select Toys are really running the show, lead by DST Chuck and not Digger.

Looks like our best bet for the most "complete" line of Star Trek figures is still gonna be the 90s Playmates line. We're not even guranteed a wave 2 of movie toys yet.....

Well, again, if the whole borg thing is canned, no skin off my back. I'm only interested in crew members. And yes, I am keeping my fingers crossed!

The entire Borg waves are officially cancelled.

DST mentioned in their Q&A they received less than a third of the orders they needed to go ahead with the Sisko/Dukat 2-pack.

We were really very lucky to have received TNG wave 5, since there was little interest in the set & Chuck from DST said it was a very small production run, which is why they couldn't correct Crushers hairpiece when it came back wrong.

Nothing besides TOS sells well at all. They said they may try & do some more things with Picard & Worf as they sell ok. But I'm not sure how much luck we'll have with further DS9 or Voyager.

One ray of hope ofcourse would be Toys'R'Us helping us out down the track. If Trek continues to do well for them they may consider taking on some sets from other series....a Seven/Borg Queen 2-pack or Season 1 Worf & Tasha Yar...something like that. **Fingers crossed**

I am a big fan of DST, but I certainly noticed a different in the quality of the work done in the early years under Art Asylum & the newer figures branded with DST. I personally found AA's Enterprise & Nemesis lines to be extremely beautiful. The newer figures don't seem to be as nicely painted or well scaled & they suffer a lot of QC issues with most waves.

I still love them, afterall...they are Star Trek figures!
