We continue to countdown to the opening of Star Trek: Nemesis, which opens this Friday 13 with this latest bit of news from Sideshow Toy.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – December 9, 2002 --- Sideshow Toy is pleased to announce that it has secured the rights from Paramount Studios to produce an expansive range of limited edition, collectible polystone busts for the extremely popular Star Trek franchise. This incredible collectible series will launch in March 2003 with the release of two of the most unforgettable characters ever, Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy). These will no doubt be 'must-haves' for Star Trek fans worldwide. Sideshow plans to introduce the entire bridge crew from the original Star Trek series to collectors in 2003.

The second Star Trek collection will feature the most popular characters from "The Next Generation." Scheduled for release in May of 2003 will be Captain Picard and Lt. Commander Data. This collection will continue with the release of the most popular characters from "The Next Generation bridge crew including Lt. Geordi La Forge and Lt. Each figure is individually numbered on the bottom of the base and includes the sculptor's printed signature. Each limited edition bust will range between 4,000 - 6,000 pieces with a suggested retail price of $40.
