Blasting off from Bandai America Incorporated in 2004 are figures and accessories based on Astro Boy, the popular animated Japanese robot boy with a hart of gold (and electronic circuitry). Based on designs from Sony Pictures Entertainment's new Astro Boy television series airing on Kids' WB!, Bandai America's products will hit shelves in the summer.






5" Super Abilities Astro Boy Figures - Capturing Astro's various super abilities, this assortment of articulated figures comes with unique action features that include light-up feet, arm-cannon action and sounds. A bonus collectible card that activates lights and sound on the 11" Interactive Astro figure is included. Due out this June for a SRP of $6.99 each.

Astro Transforming Vehicles - These vehicles, packaged with a 2.5" Astro figure, can transform from car mode to flying mode. Scheduled for August. SRP of $9.99.

8" "Build Your Own" Astro Figures - With removeable pieces that reveal Astro's inner mechanisms, this "skelton" figure can be assembled and disassembled, allowing fans to recreate Astro's creation in Dr. Tenma's lab. The skeleton also features light-up eyes. June. SRP of $12.99.

Astro Boy Playsets - Recreating various environments fromt he animated series such as the Experiment Chamber, this playset comes with an exclusive 2.5" Astro figure, not available anywhere else. June. SRP of $12.99.

Astro "Arm-Cannon" Role-Play - Replicating Astro's right forearm, the Arm-Cannon features lights and sounds, the fist pops off at the push of a button for "punching" action and flaps open up to reveal hidden circuitry. July. SRP of $19.99.

11" Astro Interactive Figure - This fully articulated electronic figure comes with 5 collectible cards that activate various lights and sounds (such as Astro's beating heart) via a card reader in the arm. Light-up eyes, removeable "flames" in the feet and hidden compartments that reveal Astro's interior circuitry add to the play value. June. SRP of $24.99.
