Global Licensing Leader Joins Forces With Top Toy Company To Extend The MegaMan Experience Through Toys
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (December 22, 2003) – ShoPro Entertainment, a recognized industry leader in the creation, development and marketing of global entertainment brands, has awarded Mattel, Inc. (NYSE: MAT) worldwide Master Toy rights outside of Asia for the hit animated high-tech cyber-adventure television series, MegaMan NT Warrior. Today’s announcement follows on the heels of a recent decision by Kids’ WB! to extend its commitment to carry 26 more episodes of MegaMan NT Warrior in its 2003-2004 season.
MegaMan NT Warrior is based jointly on the Capcom game series and the leading Shogakukan “CoroCoro” comic book line. The wildly popular cyber adventure centers on characters Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, who unite to combat the dark forces seeking to rule the world through cyber mischief. Since its 2003 debut on the Kids’ WB! the #1 broadcast network for kids, MegaMan NT Warrior has captured a loyal and devoted viewing audience which has embraced the action hero and contributed to exponential growth in MegaMan NT Warrior video game sales.
