Fearless, steadfast and lovely beyond description, Arwen Evenstar was the Daughter of Elrond Half-Elven and granddaughter of Lady Galadriel of Lorien. She was the direct descendent and the living likeness of Luthien Tenuviel, considered to be fairest of all Elvenkind. Like Luthien, Arwen gave her heart to a mortal man, Aragorn, knowing that to do so would cost her own eternal life. A skilled warrior in her own right, Arwen rescued Frodo from the Ringwraiths and took him to Rivendell where her father could heal him.
It was Arwen's unwavering love that gave Aragorn the strength to go on when he doubted his own destiny to help Frodo destroy The One Ring and be crowned King of Arnor and Gondor. After Sauron's defeat, Aragorn indeed became king with Arwen his queen.
