DSTChuck has released a new Diamond Select Toys Q&A over on their Art Asylum website for your viewing pleasure.

In this weeks edition focuses Minimates questions. Check out the entire Q&A below:

M Carter
I love what they did with the Iron Man 2 minimates franchise. Do you think you’ll release a Mk. VI version of Iron Man in the future?

DSTChuck: Glad you like then, they were lots of fun to work on.There is a battle damaged Mark 6 in stores now and yes a non-battle damaged version is planned as well.

Jett Hardy
Long time listener, first time caller. I love your Minimates line and other than losing DC Minimates you have made many of my mini dreams come true. My question is do you think there is a chance you will ever touch the Ultimates universe again? My Ultimates feel incomplete without at the very least a Hawkeye (both versions), Hank Pym and Wasp. I even feel like Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and the new Red Skull would be well received. But at the very least I need me some gun toting Clint Barton. Thanks for listening!

DSTChuck: Right now were not looking in that direction but we do keep an eye on Marvel editorial so we’re not going to say never…

Chris Nelson
I will cut to the chase. In your Star Trek Minimates line do you think there is a snowball’s chance we might ever see more of the Next Generation crew? I feel like any future product or attempts at a line resurrection will focus entirely on the original series. It would be sad to never have the manliness of a Commander Riker figure grace my mini Trek shelf without making a custom…not to mention Worf, Data, Geordi, Crusher and Troi. Can you give me even a little reason to hold out hope or are we destined to see only Kirk and Spock if anything at all from here on out? Thank you and I love your wee little men.

DSTChuck: I think the chances of seeing TNG Minimates is very slim. We do not have any Trek Minimates planned right now - not even Kirk or Spock. Sorry!

Joshua Hesselgrave
Hi Chuck. Once again, thanks for indulging us. I have a few questions. First, the Battle Beast promos are amazing and seem to have garnered a lot of interest-can you say if there’ll be different version released through the year or will the two we’ve seen be the only versions made for this year. Secondly, you seem to get a lot of questions concerning DC Minimates (which must be frustrating) and you frequently mention to contact DC Direct about any future of that line. Can you give a specific e-mail or way to contact them? It would seem not every company tries to be as accessible to fans as DST and DCD doesn’t make it very easy to find a way to let them know what fans think. Any info you have from your contacts would be appreciated. And third, are you aware of the yearly Charitymates project and, if so, do you have any thoughts on it. Thanks again.-Joshua

DSTChuck: Joshua, YES there will be another Battle Beasts promo give away this year. I don’t think DC would appreciate me giving out their email addresses, maybe you can find them at a show? No, sorry, I am not aware of that project.

Dominique Cordero
Hi! I know you guys have somewhat of a lukewarm stance on civilians in the Marvel line, but is a comic Mary Jane Watson update a possibility for a future release? The old one looks a bit dated now when compared to more recent ‘mates. Also, ever considered a Bridal Gown MJ? Thanks again guys!

DSTChuck: Yes Mary Jane would be possible - as for a wedding dress, I thought they were never married, right?

Brad Martin
First of all, I love your work so far. I have all but 7 marvel minimates ever produced and all of the DC/C3 and Ghostbuster figures. That being said, I just picked up 3 of the Spider-Man Friends and Foes box sets when they released. Why is the paint scheme so bad? I have never been dissatisfied before with you work but, WOW! The yellow on Doc Ock is VERY transparent, I think it needed another coat of paint. Black Cat’s chest color is so pale it doesn’t match any other ‘mate’s face flesh-tone, or HER’S for that matter and the Vulture’s wings are . . . yellow?!? Please tell me I just got 3 bad sets. If not, is there any plan to improve these and re-release them? Thank you. -Brad

DSTChuck: Wow Brad that’s hard core- thanks for the dedication. Hmm the samples that were sent here seemed fine but I’ll take note of your comments and pass them on so we can be sure to keep an eye out. I don’t recall ever having a problem like that before.

Brad Martin
Will we ever get the Playsets with the 2 exclusive figures? And will one of the figures still be a Battle Beast? Thanks.

DSTChuck: We’re getting closer on the Playset and yes it will come with some sort of figure and one will be a Battle Beast. If we do two figures I think the second figure will be something else.

Justin Huffman
Chuck, 1) It’s been a while since we’ve gotten some news on future waves of Marvel Minimates. Can you please give us some info to tide us over? 2) I’m greatfull that Minimates are becoming more available at TRU, but has DST ever considered a “Minimate Club” to offer online exclusives? It could be a great opportunity for collectors to be able to buy multiples of army builder figures, flight stands, or even exclusive ‘Mates that aren’t available anywhere else. Minimates are more popular now than ever before, this would be a great opportunity for the collecting community. Maybe you could partner with an established online retailer to help make this happen? Thanks for your time, Justin

DSTChuck: Justin I was just working on the write up for wave 37 so I pasted the first draft of the text in the Blog - check it out. I’ll update the text when I do the second draft (with more specific information). Yes we have considered a club but we just do not have the staffing or resources to do it the way we would want to right now. We have had offers from online partners to run something but it just does not feel like something we should outsource.

Brad Martin
Are we going to get to see Kick-Ass Movie minimates? What about other marvel movie lines? Thor? Captain America? and so on. Thank you.

DSTChuck: Brad, we do not currently have the Kick - Ass license and are not pursuing it at this time. As for Cap and Thor …Time will tell.

Steve Norton
Hey guys, I’m not sure if you spotted this, but the Minimate Factory posted an open letter to you in regards to blank minimates. There are a lot of great comments posted, and I really think it would be worth your time to read. Could you give your fans a public response? We would love to see blank minimates produced, and it seems like you have a dedicated minimates retailer willing to purchase them from you and distribute them. Thanks, Steve

DSTChuck: Steve, we have no plans to ever sell blank Minimates and I do not see that stance changing anytime soon. We’ll give them out from time to time as promotional items but that’s about it.
