I am incredibly, tremendously excited about the New Mutants Minimates I got at NYCC! I bought three sets, so I would have extra bodies for the human Wolfsbane and Sunspot heads, as well as the upcoming Doug head coming with Warlock. Since with the release of the Magik/Warlock pack you’ll have done 7 of the 9 essential New Mutants members, are Dani Moonstar and Magma on the drawing board to complete the set? Or are those characters not being considered right not? DST would be the first company to ever release all the New Mutants in any form–ever–so I really want to see one more 2-pack to complete the roster! Please?

DSTChuck: To be honest we had thought we were done with New Mutants and had covered most of what we had to for classic characters. I will say now that based on the good response we have had with the series that more might be considered down the road.

Long time minimate collector, love your work. Wanted to ask about two sided minimate heads and if the two sided heads could be used more often. I got the AoA set. Given how much the hair pieces wrap around Wolvie, Jean, and Beast heads it would be cool to have alternative face expressions like the Secret Invasion boxset. One face ‘normal’ the other a power-up or rage face would add to the enjoyment of these toys. Thanks a bunch and keep up the great work.

DSTChuck: Sorry to say two sided heads are really not our thing. They can be cool but they can also get over done really quickly. We’ve been really trying to pick our spots with figures that kind of say there is no way you can do this without doing a two sided head.

Hi again Chuck. I had a question about the new Minimate MAX packs hitting TRU right now. First off, i think these are a great idea that has been well executed (I can’t wait to see how the pirate line comes out). But here’s something I don’t understand about the sets. The firefighters/smoke jumpers have a chest tampo underneath their jackets, but no additional arms to match. The police officers have additional arms, but no chest tampo underneath the SWAT guy to match them up. Was this they way it was intended or is this an error on the factory’s part? Thanks again.

DSTChuck: Glad you like them, all of that stuff has been lots of fun to do. However I don’t think you are correct. The additional arms are on the unclothed one packaged in the center. We did decided not to have a second set of bare t-shirt arms due to cost when we were discussing ways to cut parts down. The cops are pretty much the same way and there is tampo on their chests.

I really like the mask-around-the-neck accessory that came with Suspended Animation Cap in the Captain America box set. Would you consider including that with future Captain America Minimates, and possible a modified version for other masked Minimates?

DSTChuck: I do think it came out better than at least I expected so you might see that more often now.
