DST Announces The Muppets Minimates

We actually first got to see these at Toy Fair this past February but were asked not to report on them yet, but now it seems that it is official. Diamond Select Toys will be releasing a line of 2" Minimate figures based on those loveable Muppet characters.

The first series of two-packs includes Kermit and Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the Swedish Chef, Fozzie Bear and Scooter, and because you can never have enough nozzle-nosed creatures and unintelligible foodies, a Stunt Show Gonzo with a "Batter-Damaged" Swedish Chef. The figures have around 14 points of articulation and will retail for $9.99 a set. Look for these to see release towards the end of the year to coincide with the debut of the new ABC Muppets TV series which begins airing in September.
