Elkridge, MD (August 9, 2005) – In the wake of two successful series of PALz and numerous fast-selling prop replicas based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Palisades Entertainment is has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Fox to license for the equally popular Buffy spin-off series Angel.
“When we signed the Buffy license in 2004,” commented Palisades President and CEO, Michael Horn, “We decided that we would wait until we saw some hard data before we ‘made a call’ on Angel. But now, one year into the program, it’s just a no-brainer that we needed to take a stab at this Angel as well. The fans have been very supportive, and we look forward to some great cross-over opportunities.”
As with Palisades Entertainment’s Buffy and X-Files licenses, The Angel license will be split, with Palisades toys handling the production on PALz and plush items, and prop replica division Factory X handling the high end props.
The unofficial announcement regarding the license came this past weekend at Wizard World Chicago. In a surprise move, Palisades produced the first official Angel PALz figure and provided it as a giveaway to the retailers, manufacturers, and VIPs in attendance to Wizard’s annual Summer Bash on Saturday night.
Look for Palisades Toys and Factory X to begin rolling out their first wave of PALz and prop replicas from Angel sometime in the first quarter of 2006. In the meantime, for news and information, please visit
