Toy Biz's Lord of the Rings 10" Deluxe Talking Gollum Figure
Written by: Brandon Miller

In the great Lord of the Rings series by Toy Biz comes a figure in a different category. Toy Biz has made several 12 inch collector's figures and rotocast figures but they have made a special 10 inch deluxe talking Gollum figure! The review for this figure is the one you are about to read!

Accessories: The talking figure of Gollum includes a large base very similar like the one that comes with the regular Gollum and Smeagol figures in the Two Towers and Return of the of King series' but only much, much larger. Also included is a fish and an alternate head. In the packaging there is either Gollum or Smeagol but its the same figure just with a different head but in each box both heads are the same. His loincloth he wears is very nice. It is made out of nylon netting! There is also a storage box in the base for his yummy fish and the other noggin for little creature which is helpful and is a welcomed idea!

Articulation: Smeagol/Gollum's articulation is very similar like the earlier versions as he uses the bendable body as well. The body is very stiff and hard to bend. His wrists turn and his fingers are hinged and his head is ball jointed.

Durability: The figure is very solid. I don't have any complaints!

Packaging: The packaging is a large box with the ROTK art and has a great pictures of Gollum from the films! His story and the instructions are on the back. There are many twisty ties but it isn't an insane amount. He is packed in there good and the packaging looks decent!

Paint: The paint scheme used is simple and every thing is applied nicely especially on his face! The eyes and the mouth are fantastic! The fish and his rocky platform looks authentic like in the film!

Sculpting: The sculpting is tremendous on this figure! This is arguably the best likeness of these two personalities to date! The figure's heads and body in My opinion looks exactly like him! Great hand sculpts as well! That's all I can say about that! His fish looks like an actual fish. His base is very rocky and looks realistic! Good job Toy Biz!

Sound Feature: His sound feature is excellent though it is not the figure but its the base that actually speaks. There are two buttons in the front. The one on the right is for Smeagol and the left is Gollum. He says twenty-two different memorable quotes and also has the Wish for a Fish song from the film TTT! Its loud and clear! Its really a great feature!

Overall: This is a great figure and I think any LOTR collector shouldn't be without this piece especially if you are big fan of this character because this figure shows what Gollum and Smeagol are all about! A fantastic figure!
