TNI is proud to bring you this complete first look at Toy Biz' 8th series of Marvel Legend action figures including all 3 variants that will be released in this wave. Thanks to TNI reader Asidx who won these figures in the Help Frank charrity auction that we told you about a few weeks ago. Asidx also sends along a review of this wave as well.

Up first is Ultimate Captain America. this fig is great for many reasons. Number one is the fact that all his fingers are articulated. he can point or make a fist!!!! His face looks very nice too, the Sculpt job on this guy is just amazing. He has defiantly come a long way since his series 1 counterpart. his shield is the same as the one from series 1.

Cap variant. Now this is where I got a little confused, I thought the Ultimate Cap has the gray streaks in his suit, not the Classic Cap. But when I received the figures, ultimate cap looked more like classic cap. his body is the same, same colors except the gray streaks, and his face is sculpted different in that he has wings on his head and looks like he has straps on the side of his mask.

Modern Iron Man. I was looking forward to this fig the most, and i am very impressed!!. One good thing is, like cap, all his fingers are articulated. His shoulders are kinda weird though, they have a ball joint type thing that comes out, but is hidden by the shoulder pads, which also move. His mask DOES come off and his face sculpt is nice, overall iron man is a must have for any ML collection.

Iceman. Now Iceman is IMO the worst ML figure to date. while he still has the funny face sculpt, the body that they give him just doesn't fit him. They gave him the SMC black suit spidy body (the 2nd version). The really cool thing about him is the paint application. he is a transparent figure with some kinda blue glittery paint brushed on to resemble ice. same base as shown at toyfair and SDCC

Man-thing. Man-thing is by far the COOLEST ML figure IMO. His fingers are articulated like beast's, thumb, pointer finger, then the rest move as one. His face is really cool looking and his head has a good bit of movement to it. His legs and arms bend back as good if not better than some of the other ML figures. His sculpt is superb and his paint job is super great!!

Black Widow (regular version). Basically the same body as invisible girl, just added a belt, some web shooters (or at least that's what they look like) and a collar on her jacket. The only complaint i have about this figure is that her hair is not the soft plastic like the other ML women. its more of a hard plastic, and why they switched is beyond me, but i like the soft hair better.

Black Widow variant. Its the same fig, just different head sculpt, and its NOT the same as the marvel select fig, although they do resemble each other very much. her hair too is hard plastic.

Doc Ock. This guy is THE MOST articulated fig weighing in at a whopping 65 PoA!!!!!! each tentacle has 4 PoA on them. the turn/twist and the claws are articulated. Yes his tentacles are bendy, but they are strong and attatched to his back better than the previous SMC doc ock. His glasses can't be removed, but u can lift them up and see his beady little eyes under them..his tentacle are also strong enough to hold him up, but they don't work too well on glass or marble (yes i found that out the hard way) but he stands up great on carpet!!!!

Storm. Now this is the Gem of the wave. which why i saved the best for last. Storm has new hips that work 1000000000 times greater than the previous hips. her thigh's are a bit smaller than the other women's, just means she runs on the treadmill a lil more hah. Her face is THE BEST and most accurate of the females. Her figure (body shape) is the best, its small and petite, just like drawn in the comics. Her cape is made of a very thin rubber, like vision's cape, but thinner, and DOES NOT interfere with poseability of the figure. the cape is not removable and is attached at the wrists' and by small pegs on her back. The only 2 complaints i have for this fig, is the fact that her hair is hard plastic, and her heels. its kinda hard to stand her up because of her heels, but other than that, storm is the best figure to date.

And finally, the Moahawk Variant. same as the one above, just with a moahawk.

Some pictures for fun:
