Some of the world's greatest superheroes are heading your way in 2006 -- and they've never looked quite like this before!

Corgi USA, the leading name in die-cast scale models, has teamed up with Marvel Entertainment, Inc. to produce exclusive high-end collectible metal figurines that really do these superheroes justice. Unlike the resin-only figures of these characters currently on the market, Corgi's 1/12th scale (approx. 6”) metal figures will stand the test of time. Produced in very limited quantities, these highly detailed figures are authentic to the tiniest detail, and will pass muster with even the most dedicated Marvel fan.

Four classic Marvel characters kick off the series:

CAPTAIN AMERICA: During World War II, frail Steve Rogers was offered a place in the military’s top-secret biological experiment, Operation: Rebirth. He was injected with an experimental super-soldier serum and emerged from the treatment with heightened endurance, strength and reaction time. With a little bit of training, Rogers soon became the country’s ultimate weapon: Captain America! Suggested retail price $60

WOLVERINE: Little is known of his past, save that it was fraught with pain and loss. Long ago, he trained as a samurai in Japan; later, he became Weapon X, an operative for the Canadian government. Today, Logan is an X-Man — using his animal keen senses, healing factor and razor-sharp claws to help protect a world that fears and hates mutants! Suggested retail price $60.

SPIDERMAN: The bite of an irradiated spider granted Peter Parker incredible, arachnid-like powers. When he lost his beloved Uncle Ben to a burglar, grief-stricken Peter vowed to use his amazing abilities to protect his fellow man. He had learned an invaluable lesson: with great power, there must also come great responsibility! Suggested retail price of $60.

THE THING: Once a skilled fighter-pilot, Ben Grimm is now The Thing. Bathed in cosmic radiation during a fateful trip into space with his three friends, Ben was transformed into a hideous creature of craggy, orange stone with superhuman strength. Many find him unsightly, but Ben has maintained his sense of humor and honor — because under that rocky exterior lies an ever-lovin’ heart of gold! Suggested retail price of $75 These limited edition statues will be available in April / May of 2006 with new Marvel characters be introduced every other month through the rest of 2006. For ages 14 and up.
