Jazwares, a leader in the licensed products marketplace, slices into the mobile app category with the announcement it has been awarded the master toy license for Halfbrick’s hit app, Fruit Ninja™. Inspired by Fruit Ninja’s fruit-slicing, action-packed adventures, Jazwares’ new range will include figures, plush and electronics with interactive features that will bring the Fruit Ninja app to life.
"Jazwares is extremely excited to add Fruit Ninja to our successful roster of licenses," said Laura Zebersky, executive vice president sales, Jazwares. "We hold master toy licenses for some of the top television shows and children’s properties available, and there is no doubt that we are ready to move into the app category. Fruit Ninja is a fun, colorful and unique app that will translate well into toys and electronics."
Jazwares’ Fruit Ninja line includes fruit figures and plush featuring splat sound effects, slicing features, ninja blades and branded bandanas; electronics will include Fruit Ninja-themed headphones and speakers. Products will hit store shelves this spring.
“Fruit Ninja is one of Halfbrick’s most recognizable brands, so it is important that Fruit Ninja toys and consumer electronics are an extension of the app, providing consumers with an experience that’s just as satisfying,” said Shainiel Deo, CEO, Halfbrick Studios. “Jazwares has done an outstanding job bringing the excitement of Fruit Ninja to life, allowing consumers to feel like Fruit Ninja warriors with details like ninja bandanas and real fruit-slicing action.”
With over 100 million downloads to date, Fruit Ninja, which was initially released for iPod Touch and iPhone platforms in April 2010, was recently named one of the ‘Top 50 Apps of 2011’ by TIME. The app is currently available on five different platforms including Xbox Kinect and Facebook.
Jazwares is showcasing the new Fruit Ninja line at booth #3617 at the Consumer Electronics Show.
