The LA Times reports that Hasbro has signed a deal with independent production and finance company Emmett/Furla to make movies based on the board games Hungry Hungry Hippos, Monopoly and the Action Man toyline, which is a U.K. equivalent to the original G.I. Joe line from the 60's.

Monopoly will be the first movie to be done and they hope to go into production with it starting in 2013. Ridley Scott will be producing it along with Emmett/Furla.

Emmett hopes to get all 3 movies made with a budget of under $1 million each. Emmett/Furla is still searching for studio partners to distribute the movies.
