2009 SDCC Day 1: 'Superman II' General Zod 12" Figure From Mattel

SDCC: Jay Cochran - 2009.07.24

It appears Mattel plans to make DC collector knell before Zod with this very nice looking 12" figure based on the 'Sumerman II' movie character General Zod who was played by actor Terence Stamp. He appears to come with a melted shotgun which he stole from a hick cop in the classic movie. Stay tuned later today at 11:00 AM PT for coverage of the Mattel and DC Comics: A Heroic Partnership panel here at Comic-Con for more details and information on this and other DC releated products coming from Mattel.

I have seen it in both colors, for sure the all black and at times in the film redish. Either way this line is going to die fast if these are 70 bucks as stated by some posters.

The Superman Museum in Metropolis Illinois has actual costumes from the Superman movies and shows. It's a very cool place to visit. It's been years since I visited the museum. I hope by now they have some cool Alex Ross prints for show. It needed a gallery badly.
