Hasbro has released new hi-res loose and packaged images for their 3 3/4" Classic "Assault on Cobra Island" 7-packs. There will be 2, 7 figure packs released of classic figures.

Assault On Cobra Island (G.I. Joe): Outback, Hit & Run, Chuckles, Recondo, Wetsuit, Zap and SPC Altitude.

Defense Of Cobra Island: (Cobra): Alley Viper, Bat, Dr. Mindbender, Lampreys, Night Creeper, Range Viper and Stratos Viper.

This is my theory, for what it's worth: I think some time ago (I think they plan these things way in advance) Hasbro had plans to end the 25th line in favor of focusing on the movie stuff; they decided they'd release the last couple of anniversary waves all together in the 7-pack to wrap ... read more

Maybe they'll mention something about these at SDCC. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long. Hopefully if we do have to wait that long the news won't be that they've decided to cancel them.

I'm really liking Hit & Run and Range Viper. I already have a few BATs though. Otherwise I'm liking them. I will probally get one of both sets. I'm also getting sick of waiting for a release date.
