MTV Talks G.I. Joe: The Sequel With Lorenzo di Bonaventura

GI Joe: Outsiders - 2010.04.30
We recently reported that MTV talked to Lorenzo di Bonaventura about Transformers 3 but they also spoke with him about the sequel to the 2009 "G.I Joe: The Rise of the Cobra". As far as we know and MTV knows only the names of the two writers who are doing the script: Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Both gaining success from the Summer hit, "Zombieland".

Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that they feel they will probably start shooting next spring and they do not know who from the original cast will be returning. The sequel will continue to use different locations and they want to use an many items and vehicles from the toy line but keep it military sensed as well.

Larry Hama is not involved in the writing process at this point and will bring him in when the first script is completed so he can read it and comment on what he doesn't like and there is talk about making it 3D but Lorenzo di Bonaventura is still waiting for the script and he believes the decision is up to Paramount. He finished up by saying that no director is attached yet to the sequel.
