Indiana Jones Movie German Soldiers 2 Pack

Package Description
When René Belloq discovers Indy and Sallah digging into the Well of Souls, he leads a group of German soldiers to the site, eager to claim the excavated Ark for himself. The soldiers hold Sallah and Indy’s crew at gunpoint while Belloq and Toht make off with the prize, leaving Indy and Marion trapped inside a pit of deadly snakes.

Appearance
The German soldiers share a new sculpt (but different face sculpts). These figures look a lot more like toys than collectors items than I was hoping because of the hard plastic appearance of the figures. There’s no differentiation of texture, and flat paint tones. There is good paint application, but some paint wash or something could have gone a long way. In general these figures are well proportioned, although their stance is a little wide.

These figures fit stylistically with other Indy figures, and look especially nice with the Ark of the Covenant. The joints are pretty well hidden in the folds of the clothes. There aren’t a whole lot of details except in the torso area, but the look works. These figures would probably look good as army builders. In general these figures look alright, but as a collector I would have preferred something that looked a little nicer.

Articulation
The soldiers have a “T” crotch and ball jointed knees and elbows. There is no ankle articulation. There is a swivel waist and ball jointed shoulders. The range of motion is generally adequate. The elbows and knees bend about 90 degrees, and they hold the guns easily.

Poseability
The soldiers look good together and with other Indy figures. They look more like toys than suits my taste, but look ok on display. Their balance is better than the Indy figure I have, but still have a little trouble. There is a little cross over potential because they are the same size as the 25th Anniversary Joes, but they’re style is a bit different.

Final Judgment: 5

I wouldn’t buy this set unless you’re planning on getting some other Indy figures as well. They’re not very good soldiers to go with other lines. There is some potential for army building, but probably not worth it with these figures. Overall I wish these were as good quality as Hasbro’s Joes, but they are ok for a movie line. Unless you’re an Indy fan, leave this on the shelf.

I saw the Indy with the Ark figure. The complaint I have is that it looks like someone hit him over the head. Some of the verions of this figure I saw had crossed eyes.I think Hasbro did fix it.It just indy's eyes looked goofy.I agree, the German Motorcycle trooper and I like the Indaina Jones with the ariabian Horse. Those were the only to Indy figures I picked up.I am not too impressed with the basic figures. Some of the KOTC figures looked ok.

So the Ark does open up

Toobad Indy can't take off the turban and have his Fedora ready after the turban was taken off

I agree that Monkey Man, and the German Motorcyclist are great.

I hope we get another, more articulated Monkey Man with his motorcycle down the line.

I disagree that these figures suck, however, I'm 6 years old again, I've wanted Indiana Jones figures all my life, but by the time I realized that they actually existed, they were too expensive.

this gives me a taste of what I was missing, and damn if it don't taste good!

I like the figures considered that it's been a LONG TIME since any figures were made from a major TOY MANUFACTOR, except for the Disney figures... I remembered the old KENNER ones years ago and the CRAPPY material they used on the figures... INDY was a great figure but would always break his thumb or hand when equipping his whip.

Are you serious? The old Kenner ones are far better than this garbage. The plastic is like silly putty on these and some have LESS articulation in the legs than the old ones. The thumbs might break if you forced it, but these can't hold on to anything because they're so slimy and soft. It's like they've got arthritis.

This stupid figure has knees when the other ones don't, that makes zero sense. It's hit or miss if they decide a character should have knees in this line. And he comes with the Ark, which he never sees in this costume. A Map Room like the old set would have been the way to go, with an electronic feature for light and sound, something not possible in 1982 for a child's toy.

The one decent thing is the monkey dude and the german motorbike. Buy both and finally have something we wanted from the old line. Although the mystery of his knee status might foul that up.

The two-packs are badass! Heck, ALL OF THE Indiana Jones toys are bad ass!

I am really lovin' how the Marion comes with Cairo Henchman although too bad that Henchman wasn't a single carded figure as well. I like the German Soldiers in the two pack as it gives a bit of varitey, very cool.

Indiana Jones with Ark of the Covenant is sooooo awesome!!! I am curious as to why he didn't come with Staff of Ra?

Perhaps Hasbro will make playsets off these movies and in the Map Room there will be a Staff of Ra ::::crosses fingers:::::::

I remembered the old KENNER ones years ago and the CRAPPY material they used on the figures... INDY was a great figure but would always break his thumb or hand when equipping his whip. now i had the LJN figure from the TEMPLE OF DOOM... Indiana Jones, Mola Ram and a Thugee Guard the figures were nice but it wasn't as detailed as the ol' KENNER ones and they only made three, Short Round & Willie Scott were on the back packaging but was later scrubbed from the line...

The NEW ones that HASBRO won me over because they are making a crap load of the characters and many Vehicles that they didn't make before...the 12" line, i have the talking one which doesn't give the figure justice considered that he doesn't look like HARRISON FORD but it's a GREAT step up from the ol' original one which was a HAN SOLO remake painted doll in a INDY outfit... the HAT was a JOKE and the doll didn't have much of a play Value as of the one today...

i like to get the whole set because i always treasure the 3 movies and i LOVE HARRISON FORD... so there you go for my opinion
