I like that theory!

Devil Bat - 2009-07-02 @ 2:20 am

This is my theory, for what it's worth:

I think some time ago (I think they plan these things way in advance) Hasbro had plans to end the 25th line in favor of focusing on the movie stuff; they decided they'd release the last couple of anniversary waves all together in the 7-pack to wrap things up. And for whatever reason, whether it be great sales or the possibility they second-guessed themselves and wanted to increase sales by taking advantage of the hype from the movie, they decided to keep the anniversary line going in-tandem with the movie line. That's why I think we've seen the carded Night Force Lt. Falcon and Battle Damaged B.A.T. Maybe Hasbro has changed their collective minds and decided to release more classic waves on retro cardbacks after all.

Again this is just my own personal theory, but I sure hope it's true.

I don't get how all of the stuff got canned because of the movie... waves 14 and 15, the wave 5 vehicles, and they didn't fill the void with anything other than a couple 5-packs and the Target jets!

it has been over half a year since a new wave hit!

And now, the things that were supposed to fill the void (the 7-packs) still aren't coming out? I am beginning to worry that they will indeed be canceled.

And now the movie stuff is hitting, so they will take a back seat for sure.

I don't get it either. Didn't the factor in the possibility that fans would just STOP collecting with out new product on the shelves?

It kinda reminds of one of my college math classes. First day the instructor said "I'm not giving out homework cause I don't want to have to grade it". That's fine, but when I got 2 to 5 other classes, I'm going to be spending my time on those classes that DO have homework.

With all the "save money" mantras out and all the Transformers stuff out for THAT movie, I bet they will STILL be surprised if sales aren't as strong as they think they will be.

Hi erik,

Thank you for your interest in Hasbro, Inc.

Since many revisions may occur prior to a product release, information, such as release dates, possible new items and where to buy future products, is not available in advance for distribution. We ask that you visit our web site at (link) often for the most current product information.

There are no plans at this time to discontinue the 25th Anniversary line.

We appreciate your understanding and your interest.

yea yeah yea , im sure theyre not going to cancel the assault and defense packs so what that being said , im now gonan sleep with my eyes open , how are people getting these so soon ?

In some cases, stolen from the Chinese factories probably. THAT has been a significant problem this year.

Maybe they'll mention something about these at SDCC. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long. Hopefully if we do have to wait that long the news won't be that they've decided to cancel them.

It seems like I have to buy all my toys online anymore. MOTU, Ghostbusters (soon), and now GI Joes. The worst part is I always miss preorders and they're sold out.

I'm getting sick of waiting to find out when these go on preorder.

Well, look in the bright side. Missing a preorder isn't missing much if they cancel the product on you.

I'm really liking Hit & Run and Range Viper. I already have a few BATs though. Otherwise I'm liking them. I will probally get one of both sets. I'm also getting sick of waiting for a release date.
