Today, we take a look at the new 1/6 scale Barb-Wire figure from Triad Toys and Dark Horse Comics. For those of you not familiar with the character, she is based on a comic book series released in the early 90’s by Comic Greatest World and later imprinted by Dark Horse Comics. A somewhat forgettable movie starring Pamela Anderson in 1996 also featured the character.
Barbara Kopetski (Barb Wire) is a well-endowed bar owner and part-time bounty hunter who tracks down the scum of Steel Harbor, classified as an “Urban Wasteland”.
The figure is a good likeness to the comic book character including the curviness. Packaged in a box with a front flap that opens to reveal a window showing off the figure along with the accessories located on the inside flap of the packaging. The plastic piece containing the accessories can be removed and returned to the flap.
The figure has a fair amount of articulation including ankles joints and interchangeable hands; however, I have to say I found the most problems with this feature. The hands, arms and feet tend to pop off when posing the figure. They easily pop back on so it’s not like the figure is broken, but it is a bit frustrating when you were trying to pose the figure and the things would pop off (especially the hands).
The most impressive thing about this figure is the accessories, and it comes with quite a few - everything from working handcuffs to weapons and a very detailed leather jacket with useable zippers and belt buckles.
If you are a fan of the Barb-Wire character, then you definitely want to check this figure out.
