2017 New York Toy Fair DC Comic Highlights For NECA, DC Collectibles & Mattel

With all the exciting DC Comics based action figures that were revealed last weekend during the New York Toy Fair, we wanted to give you a recap of the highlights for companies such as NECA, DC Collectibles and Mattel. Many of the products shown here are or will soon be available for pre-order at BigBadToyStore.com.

We will start things off by taking a look at the DC offerings from NECA Toys with their new 7" Dark Horse Comics vs DC Comics figure 2-packs. NECA will be releasing 3 different sets on a quarterly basis starting in July with a Batman vs Alien set. That will be followed by an Armored Batman vs. Predator and Superman vs Alien set. The sets will cost arounf $50 each and will feature accessories like heat vision for Superman and alternate hands.

DC Collectibles announced that their 7" DC Movie series of figures would be going on hold after only releasing their Dawn Of Justice Superman and Armored Batman figures. The reason for this decision was due to a lack of retail interest since so many different companies like Medicom, Tamashii Nations and even Mattel were doing similar figures.

Unlike their movie line, the 7" DCTV series line will be continuing and DC Collectibles had a number of figures for it on display.















For their 6" Batman: The Animated Series line they debuted a new Joker Expression pack figure which will feature multiple headsculpts, hands, arms, weapons and the ability to put a trench coat on it.





They also debuted a new Batcave playset with lights and sounds which will come with an exclusive Alfred figure. Look for it to be released in October 2017 for $140.00.







For their 6" DC Comics Icons line they debuted a number of new figures including the following:







DC Collectibles is also expanding into diorama type sets with their Icons line with this upcoming Death of Superman set featuring figures of Doomsday and Superman. Superman will have 3 different headsculpts, heat vision. Doomsday will have multiple hands including one with Superman's shredded cape on it. The set will feature a diorama base with superman's tattered cape hung like a flag and word balloons. This set will be released in November for $65.







Finally The 6" DC Comics Icons "Rebirth" boxset will see release next month. This set will feature figures of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquarman, Cyborg and Hal Jordan Green Lantern.

Mattel had several waves of 6" DC Comics Multiverse figures on hand including one based on the new Wonder Woman movie. Also on hand at Toy Fair was a remote controlled Justice League Movie Batmobile for 6" figures.















It should be noted the New 52 Wonder Woman Convergence figure that was shown at SDCC last summer which was slated for this wave was not on hand. It may be this figure will be released as some kind of store exclusive.










The Kingshark Collect-And-Connect wave which is starting to hit Walmart shelves now was also on hand.








While not on display at Toy Fair, the Flash TV Series Zoom figure is shipping with this wave at Walmart stores.



This Robin figures was also on display. At San Diego Comic Con it was said this figure would be released as a Toys R' Us exclusive.



Other exclusive Multiverse figures that were on display at SDCC but not on display here at Toy Fair include:






The Justice League Movie Batmobile will have a SRP of $249.99 and pre-order will open up around SDCC time. It should be available at all retailers (Toys R Us, Target, etc). The vehicle will include a special 6" Batman figure (The figure shown at Toy Fair is NOT the one that it will included). The figure has a specialized, non articulated arm that hooks to the steering wheel to make it look like he's driving. The figure will be 100% removable from the car. It sounds like you can use any 6" figure you want, but they won't be able to connect tot he steering wheel like the one that's included. You will be able to use your smart device to drive via bluetooth. The Batmobile has cameras built in that will feed footage to your mobile device. It will also use AR technology that will allow you to see missiles and such and has a real working exhaust effect.
