Jordan Fisher Joins The CW's 'The Flash' As 'Impulse'

March 30, 2021
According to Variety, Jordan Fisher will be playing the role of Bart Allen, aka Impulse in a recurring guest star on The CW's The Flash. Fisher will be appearing in the series’ 150th episode, which is the 17th episode of Season 7 of the long-running DC superhero drama.

Bart is the future son of Barry aka the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) and is said to be “the fastest teenager on the planet.” However, due to his penchant for “wildly impulsive behavior,” Barry and Iris will have their hands full trying to teach him patience — which will be a necessity if they want to succeed, not only as a family unit, but also in stopping the biggest threat to the Flash yet.

...Suit itself looks good, but in this pic it looks like photoshopped on him?? Hope we get a real picture of him in the costume soon, it'll probably look better.

The official image of Jordan Fisher in costume as 'Impulse' has been released by The CW.

The future son of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), Bart Allen (Impulse) is the fastest teenager on the planet! But due to Barts penchant for wildly impulsive behavior, stunned parents Barry and Iris will have their hands full trying to teach their new son patience. But its a task theyll have to accomplish, in order for their family to work together and stop Team Flashs biggest threat yet. Bart will team up with his sister, Nora a.k.a. XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy), as well as his parents in the 150th episode of The Flash. The title of the episode is Heart of the Matter, Part 1? and other guest stars in the episode include John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick.

The Impulse suit was designed by Kate Main, the costume designer for The Flash, who worked with local Vancouver company Ocean Drive who have built many of the suits across the Arrowverse.

Interesting the Flash is bringing on a new character, a KID character, when the rest of the Arrowverse seems to be imploding. It almost bears out what I said before about the CW being burnt out on their current crop of Super-Soaps with their 30-something casts, and are attempting to course correct by renewing their focus on the teen/young adult demo they've played to since the WB days.

Think about it, Superman and Lois is pretty much Smallville: The Next Generation, Stargirl gives us, not only Stargirl herself, but a whole new team of teeny-bopper crime fighters, and even that proposed Naomi series will apparently feature a teen lead.

I can't see the point of this. Flash just got his speed back, and now they want to add another speedster to the revolving roster of speedsters that have debuted and then left the series? Jay Garrick, Jesse Quick, Kid Flash, XS....whatever was the big deal about Impulse anyway? And during the whole time of the Nora arc, did they everonce mention that Barry and Iris have a son in the future as well as a daughter?

Regardless, the writers seem to clearly be stuck in a rut and at the same time, see that the curtain is closing on the CW for these DC heroes...Green Arrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl and Flash have, no pun intended, run their course (Arrow's already gone and frankly I think they cheaped out on BL, which was a shame). Why Legends hasn't already been cancelled yet is baffling to me. Instead of yet another speedster, itd be nice to the Flash final season guest starring Black Lightning, Star Girl, even Superman (which I'm finding to be amazingly good so far).

So it's Nora/XS all over again?
