TNI Halloween Special: Michael Myers

Which Hollywood horror movie slasher comes to mind first when you think of Halloween? Well for us it's always been Michael Myers, so with today being Halloween and all we decided to take a look at some of the various figures that have come out based on the Halloween bad boy. Several companies have taken a shot at creating Myers in plastic from Mcfarlane Toys, to Neca and even Sideshow Toys.

Michael Myers first showed up as an action figure with Mcfarlane Toys' second series of 6" Movie Maniac figures. This figure featured a base, jackolantern and a pair of knives.

Neca has now stepped it up a notch by releasing a very cool Halloween boxset re-creating "The Night He Came Home" scene from the orginal Halloween movie. The battle of good & evil waged between Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis comes to life in this deluxe boxset. The diorama base allow the figures to be posed seperately or together to form a larger scene spanning over 17" in length. This is the first time Dr. Loomis has been made in figure form and is fully poseable and comes with a pistol. This version of Michael features a ball-jointed neck and shoulders and comes complete with his trademark knife. There is even a light up pumpkin that comes with this set.

If larger scale figures are more your thing then there is a 12' Movie Maniac version from Mcfarlane Toys'

Then there is 12" version from Sideshow Toy. With bloody butcher knife, pair of glasses, a white sheet and display base. This figure was limited to only 7,500 pieces.

Finally there is Neca's 18" version with Motion Activated Sound.

Michael Myer's Movie Fact: The mask Michael wears in the Halloween movies is actually a mask based on actor William Shatner. When making the first Halloween movie, being on a very tight budget, they went to a costume shop in Hollywood and picked two masks, a clown mask and a mask of William Shatner's face. John Carpenter decided to go with the plain looking Shatner mask, which seems to have been the right choice.
