After playing it, the only real complaint I have is that the fighting is a bit sub-par. I know MK has been trying to achieve a sort of multi-faceted playing style (using various styles/weapons) that has a learning curve. With DC, the characters have their own style. But with the MK characters, it just feels off. Plus the fact that the computer is extremely cheap in some cases (low blows and chained supercombos that come out of nowhere) means that there's a little frustration to learning the game.

That, and the limited edition has the game come in a paper sleeve instead of just including a green case inside the oddly enormous limited edition package. That's just baffling.

But after you get the knack of it, the game is pretty fun. The MK characters take backseat to a pretty nice DC fighting game which the world needs more of. I'd recommend it (especially if they add more characters into the melee as downloadable content) but it does have a patience curve. Some of the moves take a few tries to do but that's probably a coding problem.

The last two MK games added new elements to the mix. The Konquest mode added an adventure/RPG element we'd never received before. It gave you things to unlock, like alternate costumes and production art. And Armageddon had a create a fighter that was pretty sweet, and you could buy new masks, faces, special moves, etc. with the koins you earned in Konquest mode. Both were excellent games.

an still were boing after 3 days. the game plays damned near the same as it did on sega.

Only if you have the same attention span as you did when you were playing Sega.

call it what you will, but the game gets old fast.

The thing about Mortal Kombat is you really need several buds to challenge, or else the Kombat part does get old quick (although I do keep playing it). It's supposed to be a two or more player game. However I did like the Konquest mode on Armageddon. That kept me busy for a few weeks.

Here are some of the Fatalities in the game. This game is defiantly not going to be the blood and guts of the old Mortal Kombat games, but it still looks like lots of fun.

i'm gonna pass on the game they have a short roster like 12-13 for each side and they skipped some great characters for a guy like who has no fighting skills at all.
