In a move certain to please specialty market retailers selling toys and the consumers who collect them, we’re pleased to announce that Diamond is now offering its customers exclusive, full-set Action Figure cases.
Responding to demands unique to the specialty market, we’ve been working with toy suppliers like Mattel to offer Diamond retailers cases of action figures that include one of each piece in a series, ensuring that customers special ordering the set – or those buying them off the rack – will be able to purchase full sets. This benefit – not available to mass market and “big box” stores – gives our customers a significant advantage over competitors, driving traffic into specialty stores and boosting sales to current collectors.
The first product available in full-set case assortments is offered this month in PREVIEWS – Mattel’s DC Heroes Wave 7 AF Set – Atom Smasher (DEC08 4704U), which includes one each of Aquaman (Blue Costume), Big Barda, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold - Classic, Booster Gold – Modern, Captain Cold, The Flash and Kid Flash. Plus, each figure (except The Flash) includes parts to construct a bonus Atom Smasher AF.
“Retailers have long expressed an interest in being able to order full sets of action figures, which are clearly more desirable to fans looking to complete a collection,” said Diamond Director of Sales Mike Schimmel. “By negotiating with toy manufacturers to offer Diamond customers these full-set cases, we’re giving specialty stores another resource to be competitive. Stores should expect to see substantially increased traffic from buyers frustrated with not being able to find action figures in the mass market.”
