Looks like a new Justice League animated series is heading to Cartoon Network in 2016. An image that appeared online recently of a JLA poster hanging in a Warner Bros. Studio Lobby sparked rumors that a new DC Comic based Justice League animated series (Tentatively being called Justice League Action) was headed to Cartoon Network. The folks over at
World's Finest have reported that they got a confirmation of that rumor from a representative from Cartoon Network's Canada offices stating that in fact such a series was in the works with a Fall 2016 release date. It is unclear if that is when the series would also debut here in the United States.
No other specifics for this new series have been revealed, like if it would be somehow connected to the Bruce Timm "Timmverse" as was the popular Justice League series's of the 90's were or if any popular voice actors like Kevin Conroy who is well-known doing the voice of Batman are attached. The release of the new series is likely to coincide with Warner Bros. launch of the DC Cinematic Universe which will also feature members of the Justice League.
Stay-tuned for more details possibly as soon as this weekend during the 2016 New York Comic Con.
