Kevin Smith Directing 'Supergirl' Episode; Character Casting News

The CW announced during the Television Critics Association’s press tour that director Kevin Smith will be returning to direct an episode of Supergirl for season two. Smith directed the season two episode “The Runaway Dinosaur,” for The Flash, in which Barry (Grant Gustin) was trapped within the Speed Force. He's slated to return to direct one episode in season three.

The producers of The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Arrow made casting announcements for the new season which The Flash executive producers Todd and Aaron Helbing revealed that the new speedster villain will be Savitar and the other villain is Doctor Alchemy.

Sharon Leal has been tapped to play Miss Martian and Chris Wood will play DC Comics character Mon-El on Supergirl.

On Legends of Tomorrow, Lance Henriksen will play Justice League of Society member Obsidian.
