We recently reported that Ben Affleck revealed test footage via Twitter of Deathstroke, an assassin/mercenary who is the co-founder of Lex Luthor’s Secret Society of Super Villains in the DC universe. Deathstroke is also a nemesis of Batman and have worked with Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter Talia.

Wall Street Journal is reporting that Batman will face comic book villain Deathstroke and the character will be played by Joe Manganiello.

DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting in his first interview discussing his new role overseeing Warner Bros.’ movies based on DC Comics characters. Johns declined comment on whether Deathstroke has a cameo in “Justice League,” which is currently shooting in London and also declined comment on when the Batman movie will be released. Johns and Affleck are writing the script for the new Batman movie, which will be directed by Affleck.
