Felt the same but got one anyway. The shipping was what really killed it, but there was a newsletter sign up to get 10% off that I was able to use to at least make it tax free. You'd think a popcorn bucket isn't worth the price, but I was actually impressed from the reviews I saw. I probably won't ever buy another bat signal again.

Trust me this is worth it. I was lucky enough to grab the second to last one at my theater and it's so awesome. The light is surprisingly bright and casting a bat signal on the wall or ceiling is just so cool.

This will be a great piece for some action figure photography.

A co-worker grabbed one of these for me a couple of weeks ago, it's a pretty nice add-on to a display.
