Fans of one of the most popular franchises in recent history celebrated the successful completion of Christie’s in New York unique three-day 40th Anniversary Star Trek auction last week – an extraordinary event including 1,000 individual lots! Featuring models, props, costumes and sets from each of CBS Paramount Television’s ground-breaking Star Trek series and feature films. The auction revenues were approximated at $7,107,040 – partially thanks to a number of lots sold to Star Trek licensee Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles!

“Star Trek began as a science fiction phenomenon, but forty years later people are still discovering the Star Trek universe,” says CEO Steve Geppi. “There are few franchises capable of generating this level of interest and Diamond Select Toys is excited to have helped contribute to that success.”

Diamond Select Toys purchased several items over the three-day auction, including items from every era of Star Trek – from the Original Series to Enterprise. Key costumes from the Star Trek films, props from the television series and even large pieces of the Enterprise will be making their way to fans over the next year.

“We’ve got great plans for our auction winnings,” says Chuck Terceira, Director of Diamond Select Toys. “We plan to display these items at several conventions and trade shows in the coming months, culminating with a great new Star Trek promotion sure to excite fans of the franchise.” Although tight-lipped about the details, Terceira adds “It’s something that’s never been done before.”
