MALIBU, Calif. — Jakks Pacific has been named master toy licensee for Warner Bros.' animated TV series Mucha Lucha!
Jakks plans to develop a wide range of products based on the wrestling-themed property, including action figures, playsets, role play items and plush. Jakks will preview the line at this month's Fall Mass Market Toy Expo; product will ship for spring 2004.

"We look forward to creating a collectible toy line for Mucha Lucha! that captures the humor and appeal of the comedy-adventure animated property," said Jennifer Richmond, Jakks Pacific's senior vice president. "Based on the success of Mucha Lucha! after its first season, we believe kids are connected to the characters of the show and will want to collect and play with the toy line.

Set in the world of Mexican "Lucha Libre" wrestling, Mucha Lucha! follows three young grapplers — Rikochet, Buena Girl and The Flea — who hope to someday become great masked wrestlers.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products handles the series' licensing and merchandising.
