no, they are stated to be in 7 inch scale.

They look pretty cool. Lot's of articulation and they are consistent with the cartoon style of the game. I just hope they keep this line going for a while, so some of the characters can be made that weren't made in the last line. Are they going to be the same scale as the previous figures?

i understand what you say but how come that there are no resident evil figs anymore? i dont believe that they didnt sell because in the small town i live in, my comic shop sold out 4 entire boxes of every wave that came out. ok they talked about resident 5 but i dont realy believe that there is something coming. i hope to be wrong with my point of view but i dont start again. i invested too much money in figures to start again. my hopes are that they are the same size then sota figures, so i can add the one or the other fighters to my line.

They aren't going to fit in with SOTA's figures. The size and styles are too different. You'd have realistic NECA figures mixed in with cartoony SOTA figures. All the companies that ever did Street Fighter have done different figures. Hasbro, Toybiz, ReSaurus, SOTA...NECA isn't out to be SOTA II. All the companies want to put out their Street Fighter figures...not someone else's.

The old fans won't want to start again, but then new fans will jump on the bandwagon who missed out on SOTA's figures in 2003.

I can tell you this, NECAs SF line wont be anywhere comparable to SOTA's. In that SOTAs line through down a nuke and NECA is just dropping some missles. Still going to make a dent in my wallet, but its going to be easier to pick and choose instead of buying the whole set like i did for SOTA.

and i never looked at SOTAs stuff to be even remotely cartoony. They just had alittle exaggerated proportions based off the art style that has been around since SF1 days. They only changed it up around SF2 but went back to it in all the alphas and SFIII and it stayed like that. I dont see many cartoony figures having as much details as the sota figs have either.

but lets see how this line goes, i could be making too early of judgement.

well good figure lines can never last, especially when its not backed by a huge company. Sota had their other projects but always had alot of distributing and factory problems with their figs. I think Sota has had an extremely strong action figure line with the SF license. They are by far IMO the best running video game based action figure line out there. They have beat 5 waves of figs and many many variants and exclusives. Im not exactly sure where NECA will take the new SF4 based line but im sure if its popular enough they will bring out the whole character roster. Capcom wants big money.

Btw NECA is already planning a 3rd and 4th wave of gears of war figures as well as a god of war 3rd wave already out. And yeah i suppose you can say that that the 3rd god of war wave doesnt really count as a new wave but then again you could say the same thing about the 2nd wave. Im all about being annoyed with neca with not going past a 3rd wave of figures but if the companies that sell their licenses to them to make the figs gives them the keep going making more i.e. epic games, then they will bring out a crap ton more.

Yeah i know what you mean man, I m pretty sure what happened was Capcom didnt want them to make any further figures based on the past resident evil games. I think the licker was all we were going to get from RE2 stuff. I wish they wouldve expanded and gave us some other creatures from RE2 and RE3, hell even code veronica. But Im pretty sure its capcoms doing and not NECA. As much as i love capcom, they are lead by a big bunch of suits. But i wouldnt count out having RE5 figures, just wait until around january for any kind of reveal. I really cant not see them doing RE5 stuff.

Urgh, Ryu looks fugly, I don't like those eyes. Anyways, I would have to see them in person before I judge them further. BUT I might get C. Viper, el Fuerte, Abel and the other fat guy.

damn. i mean what the hell. sota has the perfect line and for my taste, those dont look as good as the sota figures. i started so many street fighter lines and never, had i had the chance to finish one. i wont start again. i have all of the sota figs and i stick with them. neca will stop doing them by wave 2 or 3 anyway, as with every license neca ever had. i just hope to get sotas last wave and i am done with street fighter. what does capcom has in mind? will neca sell so many more figures then sota? just because it is neca? i dont get this way of handling a license as goog as street fighter

EvilHayato - 2008-11-16 @ 5:59 pm

i would agree with venal4, that these dont look as aesthetically pleasing to look at, but its kind of how they look in the game, however in the game they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more odd looking when in motion. What i mean is, they are super exaggerated facial animations especially when they get hit. Dont get me wrong they look great and the game is on the very top of my must have list, but in figure form they dont look quite as nice. I mean how do you translate a unique cel shading style into 3 dimensions?

With Sotas figures, they werent just trying to fit the alpha style at first. They were kind of merging all of the original street fighters as well as alpha. I mean they had SF 1 parts but had the exaggerated distorted proportions of alpha. The first ryu, i admit was alittle fugly but ken, i felt, was pretty good for both his SF2 and alpha heads. The muscle striations in his chest were alittle odd however.

Also at the time Sotas sf figs hit, there really hadnt been ANY really good or decent street fighter figures come out with alot of good articulation. Only decent ones were resaurus' and they lasted a whoppin 2 rounds and were still hard to find once they were cancelled. I remember when Sotas first wave hit i was $h!tting myself in excitement. I couldnt believe the added accessories they had like ryus dufflebag that he carries from fight to fight as he wanders the world for a challenge.

I wonder if Sota will include cool accessories? The extra hands, fireballs, and accessories, i feel, was one of the many things that made SOTAs figures so damn good.
