The NECA Ben Cooper Costume Kids Collection is back with Series 15, bringing a new wave of spooky trick-or-treaters to your shelf in collaboration with Hasbro. Based on the licensed kids’ Halloween costumes of the 1950s–‘80s, these fully poseable figures perfectly capture the vintage charm of the looks from that era. This wave includes faithful recreations of classic costumes, showcasing fan-favorites from original Hasbro brands: Grunt and Sgt. Slaughter from G.I. Joe; Optimus Prime and Megatron from Transformers; and Matt Trakker from M.A.S.K. Each 6-inch action figure wears a mask and soft goods clothing replicating the signature vinyl look of the classic costumes and includes a trick-or-treat pillowcase accessory. Each figure packaged in a numbered, retro-style window box that pays homage to the classic costume packaging.

I barely recall the G.I. Joe one as a kid so yes they were a thing.I myself despised them. I never wanted any of those. Those were too unrealistic.Sgt Slaughter one I may have accepted except he is not really a character I would want to be.Halloween seems to have caught on overseas most recently.
It's niche, but I can see the appeal of this line and these ones specifically. So, were these Hasbro ones actual Halloween costumes back in the day or are they all just 'inspired by' the concept? Pretty sure we didn't have them here in NZ, but Halloween has never been a big thing here.
