And we're done. Thanks for playing, everybody. I'm locking the thread, so this crap doesn't keep going. And just a reminder to everyone else (just in case): if a moderator ever tells you it's time to move on, move on.

Larger font? Sounds like you are reaching. Thats a simple copy paste. You are looking for issues where there are none.

Yeah, I don't think you're giving the person you responded to enough credit for their thoughts. McFarlane unquestionably does some stuff with their product choices (everything from which versions they do and don't do, choices in individual figure design and paint app, exclusives, etc.) that are not typical of other companies - at least not to the same degree. I say that as someone who collected lines from multiple companies for years, including McFarlane going back over two decades. McFarlane has always made "interesting" choices, some of which make it truly difficult for die-hard collectors at times, such as back in the day, when they made sports figures and randomly slipped in a "surprise chase" figure that had no regular (easy to come by) version and thus screwing over fans of a given team who would want the figure but had to go without or pay big bucks on the secondary market OR, worse yet, a "super chase" or something similar that was even harder to even hope to have a shot at. In some cases, it was actually cheaper to pay someone to create a custom than it was to own the real thing. In other words, McFarlane has a well-established track record of making people scratch their heads and sometimes want to tear their hair out, in my experience.

Of this group of figures, the only "must have" for me is Captain Atom, but I'm sure that I'll buy Dread Lantern also. DCvV Supes is the next most likely as I already bought the Batman and Joker versions. Joker DKR Bats and Sinestro Corps Batman will likely only be if I can find them on clearance.

I understand that a lot of people want classic figures, but honestly those have already mostly been done by Mattel, DC Direct and other companies if people wanted them (except for the brand new collectors, of course). My favorite figures from this line over the first few years have been deeper cuts or newer characters like Batwoman Beyond, Frankenstein, Frost King, Future State Batman, Ghost-Maker, Godspeed, the Batman Beyond villains and the Metal villains. I don't normally like movie figures but I really like Bloodsport, Peacemaker,Polka Dot Man and Starro from the Suicide Squad movie. I've also enjoyed getting some upgrades over figures that I already had for characters like Grifter, Impulse, Jonathan Kent, Signal, Static and Talon. The vehicles have been great too! I've got 3 of the Build-A-Horse, a Bat Raptor, Batwing, 2 Joker Dragons and all of the Batcycles (no Batmobile yet though sadly). Mostly though I honestly still prefer my Mattel figures for consistency in scale, articulation and classic looks. I have at least one version of every character that Mattel, DCD or McFarlane has ever made for DC over the last 25 years. I generally like McFarlane more than most DCD, but I still prefer Mattel to McFarlane. I mostly leave my McFarlane stuff all in the boxes whereas all of my Mattel stuff is opened. This may change over time though as I'm also a big Legends collector and I forever strongly preferred my old Toy Biz to Hasbro's stuff until just the last few years. I was really slow to come around to liking Hasbro.

Spin it however you want, but its basically a Batman multiverse line. Again, can't fault him much because there are die hard (and somewhat defensive) collectors who will buy every version of Batman he puts out. They make money. No doubt. Why would you stop making stuff that makes money.

I'm always concerned that DC collectors who don't prioritize Batman will drift away and once the Batcrowd reaches saturation and quit buying, the line goes down the drain.

My burnout IS exclusive to Mcfarlane though. I enjoy a lot of his stuff and I agree with what Jwheeler0805 posted. Todd makes a lot of bad decisions in my opinion that do nothing for the collector. Anyone who has been down the road with McFarlane through all his lines knows what he can do to frustrate collectors.

Yeah agreed, I'm a bit burned out from the numerous figures that are getting pumped out, but man they keep getting better, so I can't stop. The page punchers have been awesome. The exclusive figures are a bit of a pain, cuz we all gotta hunt them down and we gots other collectors who are just looking to make a profit or pay bills. The Walmart ones have indeed been the worst exclusives. IMO, the beast boy one was more readily available cuz he looks like a green faceed beast teen, so the demand is low. Nowhere close to being as cool as the Knightfall AZ Bat, which needed more quantity in the wild.
