Mcfarlane has shown dramatic improvement since starting the line. The ankles and wrists are completely different and you can articulate into any pose even without a dedicated thigh cut. You don't need that cut with the style of hips he uses. The proportions aren't going to change. That's an intentional style he's going with and he's selling 7" because there's an entire 6" line out there (even though it has aged somewhat poorly in places and the articulation is trash), so it's easier to sell a new scale that goes with the vast majority of the rest of his lines. There are 400-500 figures in the line now which means there will probably be over a 1,000-1,100 by the time is contract is up for renewal again in 2.5-3 years. If they weren't selling he wouldn't be putting so many figures out with all of the new tooling.

Honestly, I think this is why they are 7" now. Why sell you something you already have. My only issue is the proportions are off and they still don't scale well to each other. Masterverse is in the same boat where the proportions just aren't quite right.

Yeah, its the tiny, low sitting head and wide chest and large thighs.

thankfully more recent Masterverse figs are correcting this, but the first wave and the first Teela suffered pretty bad. Sadly, after 3 years, the McFarlanes show little to no improvement. Some of the movie figs are better but most of the comic ones still are pretty wonky ?

Imma throw in my 2 cent lol

i know 7 has been around in other collector based lines, but since DC has traditionally been 6 under Mattel, it would make more sense for Todd to keep the scale. Plus theyd be able to go with Marvel Legends too. Idk I dont really care as I keep my Todd figs with other Todd figs, but I wouldve gladly chosen 6 scale over 7

Regular edition, hands down. If I got the Platinum by chance, wouldn't even care to keep it. Just don't care for it.

@deadpiratehead As has already been pointed out, 7" figures have existed for quite a while: NECA, Diamond Select...hell, DC Collectibles/DC Direct made mostly 7" figures for years before they went out of business. Just because Todd McFarlane is making figures in a scale you don't like, that's no need to get personally insulting. And since you're new here, I'm going to say this and say it only one time: Constructive criticism is fine. Personal insults are not.Consider this a friendly warning. The next time, if there is a next time, it will come with a penalty.

i mean, the argument about the 7 inch figures is an OLD argument in the collecting world. i understand if you have an issue with the mega figs cause those dont scale with anything. 7 inch figs have been around already with neca and diamond select for while now. to me the worst company with the scales is Storm collectibles, if you really wanna go in deep the conversation.

I prefer the 1st version riddler with the question marks all over. the problem that i have with riddler is that he looks too beefy.

I mostly prefer the original Riddler to the Platinum version - except for the head. I strongly prefer being able to see his eyes rather the whited over look.

And DeadPirateHead, you're exactly right about the 7" scale. That is still what infuriates me the most about McFarlane having this line. I have 20+ years of 6" figures and didn't really want a new scale. However over time I've ended up buying at least one version of every character that he has made so far. I have just left them mostly in the box and still use primarily Mattel and DC Direct in my displays - with exceptions. I love some of the figures that he's done though: Frankenstein, Frost King, Abyss, Ghostmaker, Godspeed, Grifter, Heat Wave, Impulse, Static, Arkham Knight, Signal, Future State Jace and Jon, all of the Death Metal evil Batmen, the Batman Beyond stuff.... I normally don't like movie figures but I love the Sabbac and Starro figures and pretty much the whole Suicide Squad wave outside of red dress Harley. I'm very excited for rumored figures like Waverider and Captain Carrot... even if I'd extremely strongly prefer if they were all 6" scale instead of 7".

Platinum looks good but I think I'd take the regular. It just pops more with al those question marks all over. This guy is so basic and yet I'm looking forward to him quite a bit.

Also, you CAN still get him on amazon for preorder to be released Friday the 25th

The regular one looks way better than the platinum edition. Both look good tho!
