I found these available on the Best Buy website & they were available for immediate delivery. Some stores in the area actually had them on-hand & would hold them for you....so I bought them from Best Buy.
The next wave of DC Deluxe Theatrical Edition figures from McFarlane Toys featuring 7" DC Deluxe Theatrical Edition 1978 Superman based on actor Christopher Reeve, The Dark Knight Joker based on Heath Ledger and The Dark Knight Rises Bane based on Tom Hardy. These will be available at places like our sponsors: BigBadToyStore.com Entertainment Earth Nerdzoic Amazon Links: Superman, Bane and JokerThe Superman figure will feature a new third smiling headsculpt. Joker will sport a more movie accurate paint deco and Bane which was originally released as a Build-A-Figure will have extra hands. Bane has also had a single release with a soft-goods coat (Not included with this one) that was a SDCC exclusive.
I think this one is a better paint job but if you have the original release- might not be a needed pick up.
I'll pick up the three for the upgrade in painting alone. The Heath Ledger Joker's facial paint apps are very good.

I would doubt McFarlane will have time to do any Absolute characters or want to invest in all the one-use tooling that would go along with that. I would be very surprised if Mattel didn't prioritize at the very least an Absolute Batman - I could even see them using the 'Absolute' label for a 'highest' end collector series like WWE Ultimate Edition.
I know the paint apps on Joker are better as well as the color of the inside of his coat being corrected. Reeve has the new smiling head. Is there any noticeable updates/improvements for Bane?
I don't think I'll buy it again, especially since the wrist color hasn't been fixed, and the new head and cards aren't worth that much. Maybe if they had added two more heads: a laser beam shooter and an ice blaster, plus a Kryptonite necklace, then I might try to get it again. It looks like his little red pants and boots have been dyed a little darker? I'm not really interested in the Joker and Bane. I wonder if McFarlane will take on the DC Absolute heroes, or if Mattel will open with that? (So many agonizing questions.)
I think i'll pass on these.
I already have that Superman, and the smiling head is nowhere near good enough to justify getting it again. Maybe if it doesn't immediately sell out I'll pick it up another time, but who am I kidding?
So, the Superman figure is the exact same figure that already came out, just with a new hat...I mean a new head.
