Huh, son of a gun, they did fix his side eye! I didn't think they'd actually make changes to these cheap Ross figures! Kudos, I suppose. Shame it's already sold out though

McFarlane is annoying. I'm glad he's losing the license. But people propping up Mattel don't seem to have noticed how extremely slow their collector MOTU line is to release figures. Given the early years will be consumed by Superman, Batman, and Gunn film tie-ins, getting characters like Power Girl, Miss Martian, Zatanna, Hawkgirl, etc. is going to take a lot of waiting. Years and Years. I'll take my B+ McFarlane attempts on some of those in the mean time.
I am fairly confident that Mattel's first Wonder Woman will be better than anything McFarlane has given us . . . when she's in hand in late 2027 or early 2028.
Miss Martian is definitely waaaaay down the list for Mattel unless she starts to pop up in new media. I hope I'm proven wrong and they go for more expansive character selection from the get-go, but I sure wouldn't recommend holding our breath in the meantime.
The saddest thing with McFarlane is that the company is still run like it's the 90's rather than reflecting the realities of collecting in the 2020's. Even his comments, which may have a kernel of truth to them, are expressed in that same overly bombastic tone he has with little actual detail to back it up that could better express what's really meant and the detail behind it, etc. Their run has done some good work and got us some great figures that for whatever reason no one else even attempted (the Bat-movie line for example, BTAS revival, vehicles, etc.) but have dropped the ball so spectacularly in so many other areas (likenesses, joints, unnecessary repaints) that it undermines what they have achieved.
Robin looks pretty decent but giving him Batman body seems weird, it would make more sense to reuse Nightwing/Beast boy body.

Like, this hits more as a figure of someone cosplaying MM rather than the actual MM.
There's just no... character in the sculpt. It's boring. (Despite being a proper representation)
Is it just me?
Oh its not you, its down to apathy not just from McFarlane, but from the fans that buy his stuff, regardless of the blah. Why put in effort if they're gonna buy it no matter what. Also he's on record stating that female figures historically don't sell well. I'd counter that he's using outdated data to conclude that, but if that's how he feels (and remember he's been making figures since the 90s and is a multi-millionaire; is he gonna listen to anyone) again why put in the effort?

I literally saw this Martian Manhunter at Target yesterday. I don't collect the McFarlane DC stuff, but I looked at it because I thought the colors of it looked kinda weird compared to how the character is usually colored.
