I already have the Hasbro one preordered, so Im going to pass on this. That said, if McFarlane does decide to lean heavier into video game figures once the DC license is up, I wouldnt be apposed to seeing what the company could do with the likes of Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Back when the company was doing less articulated figures, they really excelled at doing horror and gorier themed figures. RE would almost certainly sell well based on its popularity and there are plenty of bosses that would make some awesome megafigs in the scale of Clayface and Killer Croc. Same with Silent Hill. A Mcfarlane Pyramidhead would have the potential to be really awesome if done well.

But you're probably right. Like Street Fighter and some other brands, maybe Crystal has a more dynamic licensing department now and is just handing out TR:Atlantis licenses like candy.
I mean Leaning into more Video game licenses seems like it might be the best and only bet to keep McFarlane in the game, the buying power Video Game merchadise has is extremely high, however also fleeting and finicky, with a strike while the game (iron) is hot method, or tried a true titles, he has some big titles, but he also can already use what he has doing articulated figures for things like WOW, Diablo etc, plus grabbing some licenses like whatever is going on here, probably a one off but, more from other game companies could be a good addition to the portfolio. He could position himself as the leading company doing Game action figures going forward, but I wanna say he does what Todd does, and that's not care about the buyers and makes more staction figures that sit on shelves.

Video games have regularly been a big thing for McFarlane Toys - I kinda doubt they would have survived without Halo or Fortnite at those points in the company's life - so I can understand the notion of pivoting toward more game-based licenses, but this is a weak option.
Strikes me very much the same way as the Image Founders line. The idea is good, but the execution and at that premium price and with no other follow-up?
The main thing making this a poor attempt and likely to fall pretty flat on it's face is exactly what you stated, this figure already came out, nobody is about to double dip, and this isn't a better option, plus Hasbro already got the Joe collectors and Game collectors in one swoop.

I'd like Hasbro to do more Laras, but I feel like someone here reported that their Lara was a one-off thing.

Maybe just Maybe he's got a Crystal Dynamics license, we could get a Gex figure!

Todd you live on earth right? you know that Hasbro literally did this 2 months ago, why would you roll into a direct head 2 head retail combat with a company who does things better then you?who is this for exactly? it's not like it costs less, or has better articulation. Sure sure 7'' collectors, because you know them.
Get ready for nobody to care this happened...

Wow. I had no idea this was coming.
If the necklace/choker thing isn't removable, I'll be cancelling, but I'd like a Lara to stand next to my DC figures.
I'm going to stick with the gi Joe one but it's good to see us finally getting modern tomb raider figures in both 6" and 7" scales
