In conjunction of the Metroid Prime: Hunter’s release for the Nintendo DS in Europe, First 4 Figures is extremely happy to announce a three-year licensing agreement with Nintendo for the rights to create collectibles based on the Metroid franchise.

"We are extremely excited to be working with First 4 Figures to develop a line of figures inspired by Metroid" said Gail Tilden, VP of Nintendo Brand Management. "Metroid fans have come to expect the best from our video games and we are confident First 4 Figures will deliver the same quality with their statues."

”We will be using original Metroid game data for the majority of the collectibles,” says Darren Martin, director of First 4 Figures. “This will enable us to create highly accurate collectibles that remain faithful to the original source.”

There are plans for single statues and VS dioramas.

The first in the series of statues will be previewed at this year’s upcoming E3 on Nintendo’s stand with product anticipated to come to market the third quarter of 2006. They will be available in collectible and specialty stores worldwide and online retailers as well as directly at the First 4 Figures website.

They will stand approximately 9 to 12 inches tall and will retail for $85 to $120 for single statues and $200+ for high end VS dioramas.

Current product development plans include, but not limited to:

Metroid Prime
Varia Suit

Metroid Prime 2
Light Suit
Dark Suit

Metroid Prime: Hunters
Samus
Kanden
Sylux
Noxus
Spire
Weavel
Trace
